We begin this chapter on John's 19th birthday. He has just made the worst mistake of his life and he'll feel the consequences of it. A mid-twenties former male model American is sent by a New York/Milan fashion house to Hanoi, Vietnam, to open a factory producing fabrics to pass off as expensive material for fashion house designs. He's frustrated by the bureaucratic runaround he gets in the old, Asian city he hates until he connects with a fetish for fourteen-year-old boys he'd enjoyed in Milan.
Troy never realized just how frustrated he was until he met his kid's new babysitter, Sarah. Tempted and teased, Troy found excuses to take his wife out just to call Sarah in for a job.
