On returning from an out of town repair job at one in the morning, Bill finds a naked abused girl on his front porch. He takes her in and takes care of her, but is not happy that someone has done this to her. Later when the same people come looking for her again, they find out what happens when you upset a retired professional hit man and assassin.

Reinventing Mellissa.

Hank, A teacher has students for the summer. Company coming he needs his house cleaned. He picks a homeless woman for the job. They find they work well together. He, the woman and the students draw close.

Robert Callahan lost his parents, and now is 28 yo. Aliens want to experiment and offer Robert the ability to time travel, and have some mind control influence. However, he can not travel more than five years into the future, but he can travel as far back into the past as he wants, yet can not make history altering changes. The aliens look ten years into the future and see humans are extinct. The alien decide Robert will lead family and friends to rebuild humanity.

The second story of the pair. Both these tales developed out of one idea, that's been kicking around in my head for some considerable time now.
