Some time ago, Aunt Sue published a sweet, sexy story, "Reawakening" about a middle-age widow whose raunchy friend sets her up with a younger man for "dancing lessons." Without really changing the sweet happy ending as Aunt Sue wrote it, I have written a coda that does throw a different, Homer Vargasian, light on things.

During the summer of 1948 a boy from Boston vacations with a relative in Alabama. He meets a black girl. She's young and beautiful, and they're teenagers. The story is fiction, but based on five intriguing entries in my grandfathers journal I've always wondered about. (I changed the names though, in case something like it actually happened.)

As a teenager, Linda swears off men 'forever' after she is brutaly raped and impregnated by a complete stranger. One night she is invited to a party by her now-teenage son's girlfriend's mom, where she has her mind changed and has more pleasure than she ever dreamed of. From then on she never turns down a chance for pleasure, even when the pleasure is with her son.
