Created as the ultimate weapon, it got loose and wiped out an entire colony. Only one person has the skills, the brains, and the political backing to do what needs to be done to stop the virus, but he's only eleven years old. He's got some training to do.
An Uncle Bob Story He only wanted to take his nephew hunting to bag a deer. You know, to do a little male bonding and put something in the freezer. But then his niece and daughter insisted on going along, too. In the end, more got bagged than just a buck, and the fever the girls got had nothing to do with not being able to shoot a deer.

I had been sitting in the food court when I was nearly hit by falling boxes. Offering to help triggered an outburst from an angry young woman. "What, you see a cripple and think you have to help? What do you know about handicaps? Why don't you shut up and leave me alone!" she screamed. The entire food court was silent. I didn't respond, just got my cane from a chair where I'd left it. As I was leaving the food court I heard, "Please stop!" The words weren't quite so angry now.
