The story, part of the Wizards' series, is dark, and something of a tear-jerker. I wrote the story in response to a song. It can be read as a stand-alone, although it's best understood if you've read Combat Wizard (on SOL) and the remaining stories in the Wizard series on Bookapy.

When Marek loses his job his girlfriend ditches him. Desperate for rent money Marek takes a job as a night security guard. At the start of his first shift the departing guard rags him about watching out for the ghost.
