Wanting to serve was how it started. Taking action and embarrassing my commanding officers was how my career ended. Of course when the federation declares war on my race and kills everyone on my planet it deserves an answer. My name is Stalker and if it is a mage war I know how that is done.

A Clar war Story
Close to the end of a second tour of combat in Clar the war had pushed them almost to their northern border. The fighting was more fierce but now even those Clar in the south were joining the fight. A simple night patrol and ambush turns into something else when a young Clar general is captured. First he was not armed and had come out looking for us to surrender. Second was he gave up enough intel for us to strike and break the enemy's lines.

Ahmed ibn Malik's Saracens are investing the Heights of Hattin in late twelfth-century Palestine. The Crusaders come out to parley, led by Guillaume de Chauvigny, bringing his three sons. Malik sees Chauvigny's 14-year-old reddish-blond and handsome son Andre and declares he must have him as a virgin. Turkish chieftain Yusuf bin Salah captures the boy and does everything he can to debauch him while leaving him technically a virgin for Ahmed's pleasure. Andre has his own secrets though.

My fourteen-year-old babysitter is developing nicely, and is at that age where, as the child of a single mother, she is looking for a father figure -- or something. I devise a scheme to lead her down a path she doesn't see coming, but doesn't much resist, either.

A young, atheist astronomy buff has a chance encounter with a Christian fundamentalist who's undergoing a crisis of faith. His conversations with her guide her away from a steadfast, literal interpretation of the Bible; and also take them from friendship through platonic to physical love. A story in the Tech and State Universe
Les is a sophomore engineering major who has just been dumped by his girlfriend, Lori. Although hurt and not ready to meet someone new, Les caves in to his roommate's suggestion that he have a blind date with Donna, one of Lori's friends. The evening turns out poorly. Despondent, Les composes an email to Lori that backfires badly. Sensing malice in how Lori is treating him, Donna attempts to intervene.

With three beautiful teenage blonde daughters, Bill might have thought he would be busy beating the boys away with his baseball bat. He'd have been wrong.
