A Not-Quite Human Story Unable to find a home and acceptance on Earth, an intrepid band of misplaced youth seek out their ancestral home among the stars. Unfortunately, their reception is not what they were hoped. The home they discover is a hostile place, involved in a huge interstellar war with an hostile alien species. Viewed as untrusted interlopers, they search for a place in a universe with no use for them, with little place to turn for assistance.
This is a continuation of the first book. If you liked the first, I think you will like this one. Read the first one. It builds directly from the other. If I didn't want to post shorter stories, it would be all one book. If religious overtones bother you, you probably won't like this or anything else I write.
A story in the Linda's World Universe
Linda and the Posse are back! If you haven't read the first two stories in this series, this won't make a lot of sense. The Vigilante Angels tend to be violent, bloody, and fun. A merchant seaman, Tom, is forced to retire when his ship gets sold for scrap. He's a senior ship's engineer. He returns home, buys an RV, and begins an extended vacation across the southern states. An alien had to land in the Arizona desert to make ship repairs. The alien gets hurt. Tom rescues the alien, who is a real ditz. They soon become fast friends. Our alien, Drozul, does Tom a big favor by fixing a birth defect in Tom. A great relationship happens between the two men.
Thorne Saint Cirq had spent thirty-three years at the Wat in Northern Thailand in meditation and prayer. The CIA sent thugs to retrieve him for a mission. When the thugs threatened to destroy the Wat and kill the monks, this offended Thorne's Warrior perceptions. After removing the thugs and capturing their leader, he sets out to find those who sent them. He had a mission of his own.
