Sucking It Up is a companion story for In It For Life (the sequel to Prison Island). For people who have already read my two other stories in the same universe, published here, on SOL, it's about Mouse's life in the army, how he got to know captain Reynolds and other people. There will be some intersections with the main storyline from In It For Life, but it will be mainly about Mouse and how he uses his mouth to make friends while serving the country.
I bought the bikinis on a whim. Actually, it was the towels that caught my eye and made me stop, but the bikinis were there, too, at the sidewalk vendor's stall. And I was in a hurry, so I didn't examine things very much. I trusted the girl working there to offer me information I should have sought out. Anyway, I bought matching bikinis for my wife and daughter. Turned out they were very small bikinis. My wife's reaction wasn't what I expected. My daughter's reaction blew my mind.
A while back I created a minor female character in an unmemorable tale. She must have tickled people's fancy because readers started asking me to continue her story. I had no idea how to do that; until a guy who has given me some great ideas, told me about his nephew, a former Ranger. It seemed like too much money to simply retrieve a cheating wife. But then the wife turned up dead and our heroes found themselves drawn inexorably deeper into a terror plot. You might think that none of what then ensues is plausible. But, you would be completely wrong. Most of it's already happened - somewhere. Of course there's a twist.
