Follow Iakovos, a survivor of Xenophon’s Anabasis, yet still alive in the modern world. Now called Jim, he empowers mankind’s struggle against supernatural forces while also dealing with his own humanity. Is he merely a tool of Mount Olympus? Something more? Or perhaps less—a monster like those he hunts?
Through love of a woman, he also reconnects with the drives he’d thought forgotten. A need to dominate. The skill to do so humanely. And the desire to finally become what he once was—a force to be reckoned with.
The serialized chapters are gathered periodically into compendiums for convenient posting. They can also be found on Bookapy to support my efforts. In addition, the occasional short story may appear to follow side characters touched by Iakovos.
Having outlived yet another wife, Jim is a lonely widower. When new neighbors arrive, he shunts aside his solitude to rejoin the world he protects, and has protected for several thousand years. He rediscovers old talents and skills, using them to bring pleasure to himself and others along the way.
Originally a supporter-only short side story in “The Immortal” series. After leaving Jim, the immortal, Mi, a rebellious Fae, sets out to find a suitable place to settle down and take his advice, help the humans and maintain a low profile. If the court finds her, they will bring her back—again.
Volume 2 is a compendium of the next thirty-eight chapters of Jim’s saga. As his relationship with Mandy deepens, the hints of her troubled marriage cause him to question their future, his motivation, and hers. Is he also a monster, corrupting her? And when others become involved in their shared world, Mandy’s innate talents are revealed. (Warning: Jim predates nifty little modern sexuality tags; if it's pleasurable or called for, he will do it.)
