Hello again, I've just written a review for a recent posting by Connard Wellingham (read "To Do It All Again) and remembered that I had just read another delightful story by this same wonderful writer/storyteller.
What I love about THIS story is that it handles us "Old Pervs" in a very different 'light' so to speak. An actual POSITIVE view as it were.
You see, "The Porn Star" (a great short story by the way) is not about an underage girl that was a natural born slut and decides to show the world just how slutty and nasty she can be. Instead, this is a story about an older gent that should know better and perhaps should have thought about what he was getting into before making the commitment he did.
What transpires, though, is an approach to the problems of "performance pressure" in a situation that couldn't be more intimidating and somewhat humiliating at the same time. Couple those ingredients with the fact that this guy does not make any excuses for being the age he is or the way he is built at this age or how he looks as well. He's just your 'Average Joe' who saw an opportunity to do something so different, at this 'late' stage of his life, that he 'took his shot' so to speak and did the best he could under the conditions that were given him.
This author handled it well. Let's face it, most of the guys over 50 now can only HOPE to have it 'up and ready' on command on a GOOD day. Let alone doing it on film. So, although some of the aspects could appear to be unrealistic to those of you who don't get your lazy asses out to the gym and take care of your body, this story could be deemed a far-fetched fantasy. But, to those of us who still like having an active sex life and know what gets our 'motors running' the scenarios in this story are not totally unrealistic at all. Fantastic, maybe, but not unrealistic and if you don't believe me go ahead and search the net for old guys with young girls. I assure you, you will find them out there and many of you wish you were that lucky bastard stickin' to that 18 to 21 yrs old hottie.
What I really enjoyed most about this story is that, to me, it put us 'old pervs' in a good light so to speak. It shows us older gents as just that; gentlemen that still love life and love sex just as much as we did when we were young pervs.
It's just that, now days, when we look at a young girl/woman (and get caught doing it) we're looked at as "Chester the Molester" and are greeted with disgust and disdain like someone swallowed a bug. I hate that aspect of being an older guy. I LOVE to look at young, beautiful women. Don't we all? And I know for a fact that they loved to be looked at. Not to have them look at us with that "oooh he's so creepy".
I assure you, when I was a young man and looked at a woman with more than admiration I got pretty lucky. (Which was one of the reasons I sucked at marriage...oh well, live and learn huh?) :)
So, what's the difference now? The difference now is that guys like me are older, therefore we're looked at as "THAT OLD PERV that ogles young women" and not even considered a true admirer of beautiful women. Sucks don't it?
Which is why I HIGHLY recommend this story to all you older readers. It's a story that will make you go "YEAH! We still got it!" :)
