I queued the first chapter of this two-chapter story. Look for it in the morning of May 11th.
Here is a taste - the opening paragraph:
L'ielit thought of herself as a front commander. The front line was Earth. The enemies were time and stupidity. With a growing number of people, stupidity grows, that's a fact. L'ielit had to fill the Melbourne, one of the biggest transport ships of the Confederacy, with a quarter million people so the level of stupidity would be immense. L'ielit's strategy was to split the crowd into smaller groups. Today's goal was St. Petersburg, Florida. The plan was to extract the whole town.
I'm glad you folks are enjoying Benjin's stories as much as I do.
Some of you have noticed that chapter one of Vandergast has posted. This is the second of four stories in Benjin's Joacim & L'ielit saga.
Once Vandergast is complete, I plan to segue into the 3rd story.
Once again, I remind you that Benjin is no longer active. I don't know if he uses his account to read SOL stories, but please vote and show your appreciation for his effort.
On another note, I've sent the alpha version of my story, The Beard, to the Swarm Authors and my editors. If the usual feedback happens, I should be ready to upload in late June or early July.
Joacim & L'Ielit was a little late getting posted. The moderator had to check it for compliance with Canada's porn laws. It passed and finally made it. Almost 1,000 downloads in less than 12 hours.
Once Chapter one is posted, authors can queue remaining chapters. This evening, I loaded the remaining 9 chapters into the queue - one each day. Some chapters are very short. Stay tuned...
I'm traveling but hope to get the next story ready to go as this one ends. (Part of the reason for one chapter per day is to give me time to prep the next.)
I must say that I'm enjoying re-reading as I go. I hope you are as well.
Some years ago, at the beginning of the Swarm Cycle, Benjin wrote several excellent stories and posted them on the now virtually defunct ASSTR. He lost interest in writing more and never posted them here. As they are some of my favorites, I contacted him and obtained permission to 'port them on SOL.
Please note that English is not Benjin's native language, so there are some discrepancies that I decided not to address in order not to have two versions. You can find all his stories by Googling Benjin and ASSTR.
If all goes well, Joacim & L'ielit will begin posting here on Friday morning, April 22nd. Once they begin, one chapter will post each day. There are ten chapters in all.
There are several other stories in this series, and I will try to get them done soon.
As Benjin is no longer interested, I turned off his email contact, but will try to enable comments. Please rate and comment.
Enjoy!
Be on the lookout for a new Swarm Cycle story by new author, Nietzshe.
Neetz has an interesting take on the Confederacy and freedom.
Be aware that Neetz is not a native English speaker and neither is his primary character. We proofreaders did not try hard to correct the narrator's speech, limiting ourselves to the native American characters.
Enjoy!
