Okay - I checked the version now on line. It is fine. The version listed is v 1.1
Thanks for your patience.
Folks, In checking the story, I found some major problems with sentences switched around that do not match what I submitted. I will be taking down the story and re-uploading ASAP.
If you downloaded it, I suggest you re-download.
Even with the problems, the response has been great. I especially appreciate your notes.
One thing I never anticipated when I joined the Swarm Authors' discussion group, aka 'consortium,' was the nature and volume of discussions that fly around. These folks are serious about the Swarm Cycle stories. Dropping an idea, or even the hint of an idea, is like dropping a Mentos into a bottle of Coke. You NEVER know what will come out.
In this case, a comment by Duke Nukem, 3rd Aye, combined with Thinking Horndog's Surprise, Surprise! caused my story - Don't Blame Me!. It is in the queue and should post sometime after 7PM along with the latest chapter of The Times They Are A Changing.
One of you readers commented to me that I write non-Swarm-like Swarm stories. :)
Let me know what you think.
Chapter 9 is in the queue and should appear a little after 7PM on Sunday. It is shorter than 8, but I bet you like it.
Our team is on the road and caught in the open when the weather turns seriously crappy. They assemble a makeshift shelter and hunker down. Once again, we learn something new about Michael's ladies.
For those of the Christian faith, I wish you a joyous Easter. For all of us, blessings of respect, peace, love, and harmony.
Chapter 8 is the longest chapter in the story and should pop up this evening. The previous chapter appeared just after 7PM central time.
The team/family is on the move. They meet a few interesting, some dangerous, people. Cathleen is, indeed, a deadly shot. Bet you didn't think so when you first met her...
I uploaded fixes to typos in chapters 1,2,&3, but I still find stuff weeks after a final proofing. If you see anything, please let me know.
On another note, there have been few comments on the quick bonding between Michael and his ladies. This is NOT caused by nanites like happens aboard ship in Swarm extraction stories.
I wanted to make this clear because a couple of comments by Swarm authors and editors triggered a fun short story that you will see shortly. It's titled Don't Blame Me! and is in the final edit/proof.
