Chapter 2 was kicked to upload this morning.

Monty makes his way to Pēteris's HQ on Chaos and meets his family. He teams with Maggie, Charles, and Sarah to start out on his first rescue.

Note that Monica and Monty are the same person. The names changes are used to denote switches in persona.

So I lied. SOL has a couple of posting quirks. One is that to upload several chapters, the first must already be posted.

You get the Prologue and Chapter One today, Chapter Two tomorrow, and Chapter Three on January 1st. Then we go to every other day posting.

It turns out that with my messed up hands and drawn out writing, I made lots of typos and other goofs that a legion of first readers, editors, and proofreaders had to point out so I could fix them.

The story is done. The sixteen chapters will post every other day. Your feedback and error reporting will be deeply appreciated.
