Chapter 2 was kicked to upload this morning.

Monty makes his way to Pēteris's HQ on Chaos and meets his family. He teams with Maggie, Charles, and Sarah to start out on his first rescue.

Note that Monica and Monty are the same person. The names changes are used to denote switches in persona.

So I lied. SOL has a couple of posting quirks. One is that to upload several chapters, the first must already be posted.

You get the Prologue and Chapter One today, Chapter Two tomorrow, and Chapter Three on January 1st. Then we go to every other day posting.

Monica Mechanic will begin posting tomorrow. Why did it take so long, you promised it weeks ago?

It turns out that with my messed up hands and drawn out writing, I made lots of typos and other goofs that a legion of first readers, editors, and proofreaders had to point out so I could fix them.

The story is done. The sixteen chapters will post every other day. Your feedback and error reporting will be deeply appreciated.

I hope you and yours are having a wonderful holiday. I'm 950 miles from home having Christmas at Mom's with 2 daughters and grand daughter - first time together in many years.

I'm writing this on my tablet as my laptop's charger died last night. I can't finalize and upload Monica until I'm back on my laptop. Sorry. Looks like New Years.

Just in time to mess up their Christmas, I sent Monica to my editors. Why am I telling you? I'm over seventy. If you are like me, eight months is a long time to remember plots and characters, and Monica Mechanic is a sequel to Pēteris. Now, with this warning, you'll have time to at least scan Pēteris.

Near the start of Monica, I listed most of the characters from Pēteris that appear in the sequel, but that's pretty dull reading.

As always, the story is complete. Monica is 15 chapters long and I will post a chapter every other day.
