I'm not dead. Yet. In fact, I actually have been working some onBand Geek Diary I also have the starts of about six other stories. Muses are fickle things, aren't they? I'm sorry to report, however, that nothing seems to be coming to completion on anything I'm writing, SO... your five-month wait for the next installment of John and Katie's sex education may stretch out a few more weeks.
I'll give no other hints on what's in the pipeline other than to say thatAll A'Twitter, which is at this point incomplete and inactive, will eventually be finished with the addition of two more chapters that are halfway written.
I hope you
A couple of years ago, a woman that I was emailing back and forth with sent me a story - a fantasy in which she and a lesbian lover went on a cruise. It was, orthographically speaking, a fucking mess. By the time I beat it into shape, it was more my work than hers. I didn't post it at the time, but I'm putting it up today. Be on the lookout for The Cruise.
Yes, I'm still working on Band Geek Diary as well as a couple of other projects when I have time, including the two chapters that will conclude All A-Twitter which is currently inactive.
Patience, my friends, patience.
Actually more than that, but yeah. My quiet life got derailed last summer when my mother had a health scare. We dealt with that - got her in senior living, cleaned out her house and got it sold. She's doing great at 93.
Then my wife had surgery AND THEN got a promotion at work which required a 900 mile move. Yeah... but we got through it. Six months or so later we're mostly settled in and I managed to get back on the keyboard for the next chapter of Band Geek Diary. Look for it to pop up soon, because I just submitted it to the powers that be.
It's a slow-paced story anyway, as John and his girlfriend Katie work their way toward their first time having sex. That event is about a month away in the story and a few months away from getting posted. Fear not, though. I am getting there, and have a lot planned for the remainder of their school year. For now I'm proud to say that I'm uploading events of December 5 and 6 that will push the story up to over 60,000 words.
You'll notice occasionally that I slip in John's view of some of the events his father talks about in the story Band Parents. It's not really necessary to have read that story, though you get an inside on what John is commenting on that his dad seems to think had gone unseen. Parents never think their kids are paying attention, do they?
I've been limited for the past few months in how much time I can spend writing. I spent most of of the month of July helping my siblings clean out my mother's house after we put her in assisted living. The lady is a pack rat, so a lot of work was involved.
The month of August was dedicated to getting rid of a lot of my own junk. Some of that was motivated by having had to deal with Mom's mess, but it was also prompted by the fact that we have decided to move. Moves are always a reason to clean out the junk, right? Cleaning out junk has also been accompanied by a long list of projects that need taken care of so that the house will be attractive to buyers.
Billy Bob is a tired old man after all that, so the writing has been on the back burner for the past four months. I apologize for that. I know a lot of you have been waiting to see what happens to our young band geek during the rest of the Thanksgiving weekend. Fear not. I have Saturday and Sunday's entries (November 30 & December 1) almost ready to upload. Expect them later this week before I go running off house-hunting.
