Thanks to the keen eyes of SOL members SpartySam, Bud Ugly and rlfj, I was notified that my story "Band Parents" was being offered for sale on Amazon as "The Swinger Parents" by the 'author' Belinda James. It took a few tries to convince the megalithic corporation that there was fraud taking place, but I just received notice that the title is being removed from Amazon's inventory.
I also pointed out to them that mine wasn't the only work pirated by this sleaze ball, so we'll see if her 'career' lasts much longer.
For those who might be interested, I'm getting back into writing again. My muse has been down several rabbit holes, and I have the start of a few possibly fun stories as well as some more fun in "Band Geek Diary." Stay close and I'll try not to disappoint.
I'm doing the final cleanup and tweaks on Chapter 18 of "Band Geek Diary," which will cover Saturday January 4 through Monday January 6. I should have it ready to submit for posting in a day or so.
John loses his virginity to his girlfriend's mother in this chapter as she teaches him what he needs to know in order to make love to her daughter. There are also some references to events that take place in chapter six of "Band Parents" and that also act as the setup for "Abby's Blackmail Attempt" and "Abby the Flute Girl." It might be helpful to know those stories a bit so you're not totally confused by John's observations.
I want to say again that the Band Parents Universe is public, and invite you to add your own stories to the universe. They don't have to relate to the other stories, they just have to revolve around the high school band's students and their parents.
I seem to be getting back in the swing of writing on Band Geek Diary. I'll submit the next chapter later today and I hope to have the installment where John loses his virginity posted in a couple of weeks. It all depends on my muse, and she's about as reliable as an Amtrak schedule. Anyway, thanks for hanging in there.
Merle Haggard had it right. Writing the final parts of the month of December in the story "Band Geek Diary" has been an exercise in frustration, procrastination and the flagellation of my muse. She whipped me first, but I repaid the favor.
I have high hopes that I can stay on track better and post the rest of the story in a timely fashion from this point on. For now, the weekend of December 28 and 29 has been submitted for posting, and I'm putting final touches on a couple hundred words to describe New Year's Eve.
She struck again. While in the midst of trying to work through another chapter of Band Geek Diary, the muse started chasing an entirely different story. At least she gave me the whole thing this time. I just submitted "Senior Night" for publication. It's a tale of a divorced band parent who has a quick fling with one of the students. I hope you enjoy it.
