All the dates in "Band Geek Diary" line up with this current school year (2019-2020) so it's possible to read things on the day they're supposed to happen. Today, for example, is September 3 and the first part of Chapter 2 in the story. I think it would be a fun way to read (or re-read) the story. I promise to stay ahead of it this time and finish by May.
I submitted the next chapter of Band Geek Diary this morning, covering events for January 25 - 26. I hope you enjoy. I'm already deeply into the next episode covering February 1. I'm not writing about Groundhog Day. I'd never finish.
The response to "Making the Rent" has been amazing. In 24 hours, it's gotten more downloads and more votes (thank you for voting!) than a couple of my other tales have managed in a couple of years. This kind of attention is gratifying for me as a writer. The feedback messages and comments have been very encouraging. (Yes, the score could be better, but it is what it is...)
I apologize for the delay, but real life gets in the way sometimes. I'm in the final editing on the next chapter of "Band Geek Diary" and should be able to submit it for posting later today.
One side note: The days and dates being used for the story line up with the 2019-2020 school year. in fact, today, August 15, is the first day of the story. When I began the story five years ago, I never expected I'd still be writing it when the dates started to line up like this, or that it would become the largest single story I've ever written. I hope you're enjoying it.
Thanks to the keen eyes of SOL members SpartySam, Bud Ugly and rlfj, I was notified that my story "Band Parents" was being offered for sale on Amazon as "The Swinger Parents" by the 'author' Belinda James. It took a few tries to convince the megalithic corporation that there was fraud taking place, but I just received notice that the title is being removed from Amazon's inventory.
I also pointed out to them that mine wasn't the only work pirated by this sleaze ball, so we'll see if her 'career' lasts much longer.
For those who might be interested, I'm getting back into writing again. My muse has been down several rabbit holes, and I have the start of a few possibly fun stories as well as some more fun in "Band Geek Diary." Stay close and I'll try not to disappoint.
