Eight wasn't supposed to take months to write. I got off on the wrong track and it took four attempts to get it right. The story in this version is far better than my original idea.

Chapter eight is still in work. Several beta readers have made suggestions and I am incorporating those. Why the delay? Real life, especially work, is consuming more and more of my time.
In the future, I'll finish the story first, then post it.
Chapter eight is still in work. Progress is slower than I'd like due to my work. I repair electronic equipment, and normally, it doesn't use too much brain power. While working, I think about the story, and jot down any new ideas. At home, I expand upon the ideas.
I've been reassigned to a couple of new projects, and they are not easy. New ideas haven't been coming as fast.
Maybe my bosses decided I needed a challenge?
As for actual progress:
Chapter eight, version 4, is over fifty pages long. I am nearly to the point where I'd start editing.
Chapter nine, version 2 or 3, has nine pages written so far.
Some may ask: Why so many versions? Chapters 5 thru 9 were started in December of last year. As the story progressed, I'd update the chapters. Sometimes I'd write content and scrap it. For example, versions 2 and 3 of chapter eight dealt with the fate of Junior. Pages and pages of Junior and his captor. At some point, I remembered this story was not about him. I scrapped most of Junior's story.

Chapter seven moves thing along, finally! With seven I wanted to try for a love scene that is both hot, but also fun. This chapter also features my longest, most detailed fight scene. The writing is as good as I can make it.
The next chapter currently sits at thirty-three pages. Most of those pages are good, some will be deleted, and I'll write more. My best guess for completing chapter eight is another four weeks.
