Hi there and good morning to all. (Good evening to those where the sun is now setting.)
With winter now taking a hike and the daily temps on the rise it now becomes the time when RH will use that dreaded words: "Yard Work!"
Not that I mind. It's such a pleasure to sit outside and write a chapter or two, while being surrounded by the nice flowers and nicely flat green grass (lawn, for those of you not familiar with the word, "grass.")
While most of the world, on the western half of the world, will be waking up and decide on breakfast, and the Eastern half will be considering supper, we here in the middle just had lunch. And chapter 7 of "Desert Rose" will become available.
Just a word of warning: There's a little dialogue that will be confusing for those of you that had never played around with software engineering. It will be a banter between Ash and the Grumpy Old Voice. Please take it at face value, because the explanation will take about 3 pages. Though it is straight forward and made sense to all my editors. Only one of them commented by saying: "Some readers will be cross-eyed to work that one out..."
The reason I've put it there, is to have the reader be aware of the CODE, hidden in Angie's letter from her mother. So, that code will be addressed later, but the current maths, or software engineering thing, will just whet your appetite.
That said: Enjoy the chapter. The next one is already in the oven and heating up.
Regards. Stay safe!
Bye 4 now!
Then there was the letter… Oops, what now? Sorry to do this to you, but it reminds me of a poor student at Collage. His father paid for his studies and also provided some pocket money…
So, one day the father got this short telegram:
No mun,
No fun,
Your son.
So, the father replied with:
Too bad,
So sad.
Your Dad.
Well, I say no more. Chapter 6 will be up later today.
(Editor: Keep em guessing!)
Stay safe! Stay well.
Bye 4 now!
What a few days. Wrong documents flying across the Atlantic, technical issues with MS Word, A mail not send… Yeah, it happens. But why all at once?
Anyway, we did get through it and Desert Rose Chapter 4 will be up later today. Also, with all this stuff happening, I did finish Chapter 5! That one will be up in a day or two. Make it one day. I'm just waiting on one editor to finish, then without delay, it will also be posted.
Keep well and stay safe!
Bye 4 now!
Just a heads-up. NO, South Africa is not burning! All is well and quiet and peaceful. Here at least. Some video and stuff is circulating about BIG riots and looting. Nope. Only a few isolated cases. The media and political bozos blow everything out of context. Yes, some shops were looted and some burned down, but not as bad as everyone believe. Some looters had realised what is going on and are now returning the stolen stuff to the shops. Can you believe? Well, it is true. So, take what you see and hear with a big bag of salt. The corrupt creep that started it all, is still in jail. (He even got permission to go out and attend his brother's funeral!)
Good news. Chapter 3 of Desert Rose will be up later today. Enjoy and keep the emails and comments coming.
For those of you who asked? Grumpy old voice is on holiday and will only make an appearance later in the story. (Sorry, not my doing.)
Regards, and stay safe!
Bye 4 now.
Hi there!
Winter is settling in good now. The cold front, out of the South Atlantic, struck Cape Town a few days ago. Now it is heading inland, and we can feel it here in the north. Morning temperature around 3c here, and the Red Head reports 0c on the farm, only 12 kilometres away.
Chapter 2 of Desert Rose will be available later today. Happy reading. Stay safe!
Bye 4 now!
