Hi all!

The week just flew past with the redhead on holiday again. Yes, there was a lot to do and not much time for writing but, all is not lost chapter 9 will be going out to the editors soon and chapter six will be posted shortly.

Well, before the cell towers go out again due to the incompetent Eskom, let me get the chapter 6 zip file uploaded.

Man that WhatsApp social media thing is great. Just think, making an international video call to one of my friends in the USA, and it cost only a wee bit of data. Not an arm and a leg on normal call rates! BUT then the cell towers must be on! And even the redhead chats to her friend in Europe! (Every night!)

Thanks for all the emails and comments. It is appreciated. Yes, I know that SOL don’t want me to discuss the individual vote scores, but I do get a laugh out of the voting! Though the 10, and 9 votes do top the charts, (and therefore I thank you sincerely.) there’s still 11 or so 4, 5, and 6 votes.

As I said: it is cause of some good laughs compared to the feedback I get. I’m in it for the fun and not score or winning any accolades. No, the fun is the thing and making friends all over the world, and did I make friends! From the USA to the Philippines, from Sweden to even as far as the Falkland Islands! (Yes, Russia, Ukraine and even from the Arab Emirates.) I appreciate all!

Hi all!

And so the first week of the new year has passed, and the year is not so new anymore. LOL. Well the redhead is back at work and bliss and solitude descends once more on the house. Just the cats inside, and the strays outside sometimes cause a disturbance in the force…

I started on chapter nine, and things are going well. With the writing… the trails and tribulations of the characters is another story.

I trust that you all had wonderful New Year Celebrations! Welcome to 2023!!!

I had this chapter sort of in the bag, just had to place some pictures. But, with the Redhead at home on holiday, I only get to publish it now. There was a lot of “One must cut the lawn; One must cut the tree brunches, One must … Now guess who was; “One Must?”

Anyway, I did finish chapter 8 and are now revising what the editors did. In the meantime, here is chapter 4. Happy reading!

I should mention that in the text of chapter 4, Andrea refers to “Huckleberry” the donkey that visits you in the bar and the restaurant at Pistols Saloon. Unfortunately, Huckleberry has passed on, and was replaced by another donkey. These animals that reside at Pistols Saloon are all rescue animals and are overseen by the local SPCA. At no time are these animals allowed to use any alcohol and if you do venture to try to feed them anything other than what their handlers have available, you will be thrown out of the restaurant! Yes, you can buy a bag of feed to feed the animals, and the funds go towards their upkeep and vet bills.

The donkey in the picture in Chapter 4 is Huckleberry. I will try to get some info on the current donkey at Pistols when I pass there later in the year.

Hi all!

I trust that you guys and girls are well. With the news coming in about the snowstorm and Arctic conditions in the USA, we fear for our friends over there. So far my three editors, and Grumpy, are okay with various degrees of cold and snow depth. But alive and still with power.

LOL! I am still busy with chapter 8. It is summer here with us and when it’s not raining the yard calls to me to tend to it. THEN, the Red Head is on holiday, and you know how women can generate jobs for us men to do… Changing the lounge furniture around. Switching the paintings on the walls. Then after I rearranged the wall clock, yes you guessed it. I had to move it again because she could not see the time. Grrrrrrr!

We have a saying here in SA: “Jy vat my hond…” Directly translated it means: “You are taking my dog.” But that is not the meaning. It is a polite, diplomatic, nice way of saying: “You are F… me around!”
