Chapter one of Book 7 will appear as announced, on Thursday the 25th. The title page, Foreword, and a summary of what’s happening in the story leading up to Book 7 will appear today. The idea is to give people time to check the summary and see if I forgot anything :)
Enjoy!
Minor update: I don't know quite when the updates queued for tonight will appear. I hope it will be soon.
I'm happy to announce that there's a set posting plan for Book 7!
Barring any last-minute surprises, Book 7, Chapter 1 will post on Angie's Birthday, Thursday, June 25th. Chapter 2 will post on Saturday the 27th.
Along with Chapter 1, I intend to put out a poll asking for day of the week preferences. For now, I'm sticking with two chapters a week. While I think Monday/Friday makes sense, I'll offer options and see what people think.
If my 'buffer' continues to grow, 3x/week is entirely possible. However, I don't want to overcommit until I'm confident Book 7 can come out without pauses in publishing.
Thank you for your patience, and I hope you enjoy Book 7! I'm hard at work on it, and looking forward to seeing how everyone reacts.
This felt worthy of an update, so here it is. Writing has gone much, much better in May. I'm not wildly ahead yet, but I'm no longer struggling to get anything written. Based on my current travel schedule, I'll lose a few writing days in early June, as well as the last week of June and the first week or two of July, but those aren't critical.
All of that means all signs are go for a late June start to publishing Book 7. Unless I do in fact get wildly ahead, posting will start at two chapters per week. I hope to get to three, but that will require a sustained period of making sure writing holds up. I have less traveling is the rest of this year than I've had up to now, which is a good sign.
Thank you for your patience! The early chapters of Book 7 turned out to be rougher than I'd expected, and having the time to fix them will make the entire book better, I think.
Hello everyone:
March and April were not the writing months I'd hoped for. Far too much family stuff came up. Not bad, but a lot.
I am currently hoping for late June for the start of Book 7. I would much prefer to be able to publish steadily, once started, than stop and start.
Thank you all for your patience! As the move settles down, things should get better. But that's still very much a work in progress. Our new home is quite liveable, but the old house is still far too full of our stuff, and we need to get it cleaned out and sold.
And thank you for your patience as I get back going. I should have updated my blog considerably more, and I have a very large number of SoL mail messages to reply to. I'm starting to work my way through them.
Finally, thank you all so much for your support in the Clitorides voting. I'm stunned, grateful, and very appreciative!
As some of you know, I am in the middle of a slow-motion international retirement move. Enough of the move is done that the new house is comfortable, well-equipped, and easy to live in. However, the old house is still full of far too much stuff, and has a mortgage, property taxes, and all of that. With that in mind, there will be lots of time spent on downsizing and clearing out, which takes away from writing time. I'm also still establishing a routine here and figuring out what works for me. Also, living in the old house will get progressively less efficient as more things are moved out.
With all of that in mind, I have decided to finish posting Book 6 at 2 chapters/week, Monday and Thursday. That adds only a little time, since there are only 7 chapters to go.
The current plan is to start posting Book 7 in April. If I can get to where 2x/week is a viable posting pace before then, I will start early, announcing it as a blog post. Note that 'April' is not well-defined. Somewhere in the month, but that's all for now.
I'll be around and am always happy to get messages (even critical ones). I may reply slowly, though (as I am now).
I hope (but cannot promise) to get the updated Book 1 (and possibly later books) out during the gap. They take little time, comparatively, and the mental load of editing and updating is much different from that of writing. That, and the work is done now, barring some editing on later chapters.
Thank you for reading, and for your patience!
