Retirement...I've managed it twice (US Army, Teacher), tried a third time (writing), and discovered that it's terribly overrated!
I've got the concept for a new book, and most of the plot for another, tentative title Growing Up Wizard. It's the seventh book in the Wizards Series, which begins with Combat Wizard that's available here on SOL. The others were on Bookapy for a time before I removed them to revise and rework, while hopefully eliminating mistakes.
Current plan: write the first ten chapters, then start submitting them to SOL if Lazeez permits. At one time he wanted all the books in a series on SOL first, but that was pre-Bookapy.
The other is a one-off, so won't present problems. I've worked on two projects simultaneously before, so I'll see if I can still do it!
Fair notice: I'll be removing my books from Bookapy this weekend. I'm going to take a long look at them and see if I can improve them before republishing.
Jack Knapp.
No idea what went wrong; yesterday, I submitted Hybrids to Bookapy's moderators. Got the message it was in their hands.
But this morning, when I checked I found a notice to complete the process. The manuscript upload apparently didn't happen, but I resubmitted it a few minutes ago. I'm wondering now if something's wrong with the file?
If so, I'll find out sometime today.
Whew! It's obvious that I've forgotten a lot about how to publish a new book!
But Hybrids, the 8th and final book in the New Frontiers Series, is now in the hands of Bookapy's moderators.
Thanks to Pixel the Cat for assistance! It's really nice, finding a new editor. He won't take the place of my previous editor, PC Bondsman, nor should he. Together, he and I will form a new partnership!
No promises, but I've got the essential elements of a new novel kicking around in my head, so retirement may have to wait awhile.
And a special thanks to all the readers who wrote to me after my previous post!
Simple fix; The Trek is now retitled.
It was on Bookapy, but now it's listed as The Trek: Book Two, The Darwin's World Series.
My apologies for the confusion.
