New Story Coming

Posted at

I just sent my most recent book to the editors - Conclave. I should have an advanced reader version ready in a few weeks and I will start posting it on SOL a couple of weeks after Senior Year III finishes posting in early January.

Since the chapters are shorter, I will post two per week. This is a full-length novel that came in just over 110K words.

It is a story about a fish out of water, as a young man is forced to move from the big city to a small town in Oklahoma. It is more of an action/adventure/mystery type of story, something new for me.

I don't plan to start writing A Better Man 2 until after the first of the year. By then I will be ready to tackle David and the gang again.

In the meantime, I'll either fix my do-over story or write some smut. While I write ABM2 I am thinking I'll also be writing the second Conclave book.

The goal is to have ABM2 done by about this time next year. The ideal would be sooner, but this is for fun, not a J.O.B.

Thanks for all your support. Be safe.

People are asked when the second Better Man will be available for Advanced Readers.

There will be two stories in-between. I needed a break from David. I did that when I wrote stories like Little Tony. When I came back it was much easier to carry on with the epic tale.

I will start writing ABM II shortly, which means sometime next year.

Thanks so much for all the emails and feedback. It is not easy to keep a story like this fresh.

Quick Update

It's been a crazy couple of weeks.

First, I completely redid my website. I swear there always be something to fiddle with.

I sent out an email about the next book in the Stupid Boy series. The college books are going to be called A Better Man. Based on reader feedback there are a couple of things that will be changed before it reaches SOL.

Finally, I've decided to take a break from writing about David and his friends and create something different. I plan to tackle the Action/Mystery book and see how I do with that.

A quick note to thank you all for voting for me and my stories.

It's a team effort. My editors make me look good. They deserve a shout out.

XofDallas, Bud Ugly, Zom, TheMikeBomb, and my newest addition Old Rotorhead (who is helping with my new series - A Better Man).

I couldn't do it without them.

I also couldn't do this without the readers on SOL - Thank You

I've been busy

My day job is running a real estate company. People still need a place to live, so we never slowed down.

Where I gained time was through my other hobby, not writing, is playing poker. For some reason, the state decided that poker rooms had to be shut down. I guess I can see their point because who plays tournaments during the day? Old guys like me and college kids. What could go wrong with that mix?

My editors assure me that we will have chapters for the final book in the Stupid Boy Series to post on SOL the last weekend in May (I was told that not all of you keep track of holidays in the US - Memorial Day weekend).

I was worried we might not make it because one of my key editors contracted Covi19. He assures us he is feeling much better and is starting to send us his edits. He's key because he catches what the rest of my team miss. It just goes to show you that you shouldn't edit your own work.

There are enough chapters in the last book to get us through the year once we start posting. So you will get your weekly fix of David and company into January.

The first book in the next series, A Better Man - that covers the college years, has gone faster than anticipated. I might be done with it by mid-summer. The problem is I can't start posting it on SOL until David's high school years are up.

If I can't play poker this summer we might end up with a couple of books stacked and waiting in the cue to post on SOL. For me, that's a good problem because I might get a chance to write something different while we wait to catch up.

Stay safe.
