... I have a feeling only guys will appreciate what I'm about to share.
Here in Florida, we have a critter called Love Bugs. This time of year they swarm and when you drive they get smashed all over your car. I had a swarm invade my front porch and several of them got into the house and died all around my front door.
Being lazy, I grabbed my leaf blower to clean off the porch. Then I thought ... hmmm. No need to go get a broom and dustpan for the inside of the house. I'll just open the front door and blow them out.
I found the greatest invention ever! You no longer have to sweep your hard surfaces. The blower did a fantastic job. My dog was ecstatic when it blew out three balls he'd lost under the couch. The best part was that it took me all of five minutes to do the whole house.
So, next time the little lady tells you you have to sweep, wait until she leaves, and then grab the leaf blower. The best part is, it's a lot of fun.

PS Senior Year Part II will start posting next Saturday.
While I am dealing with the insanity that is Florida during a hurricane ... (already no gas and the grocery stores shelves are bare) ... I thought I would give you a quick update.
Even though I don't think we will take a direct hit, it will mean significant amounts of rain and possibly wind. Wouldn't be surprised if we lose power for a few days if history is any indication. We should be fine though.
Still on track to release Senior Year Part II on SOL October 5th. Everyone that read the prerelease version and my editing team has been getting it ready for you to read. I want to thank everyone for finding 95% of my goofs - which there are many.
I've written 21 chapters of Part III. The book seems to have taken on a life of its own and looks to be larger than I thought it would be. I'd hoped to be done at the end of November, but don't know if I will make it or not. When I have a better idea I will let everyone know.
Enjoy your weekend.

I promised to get David and friends through high school and I've talked it over with my editors and we feel that will be a good stopping point. They've threatened me that if I end the book on either a cliffhanger (which I would never do ;-) ) or 'it was all a dream' they will hunt me down.
So the pressure is on to make the last book the best.
What's next?
I will take the Halloween story, The Chosen, and turn that into a full book. We've already outlined it and have a good idea of what we will do to make it a full story.
Then I will write a six story series A Better Man. It will follow the development of a young man who has had some success in high school and he will see if that success can continue through college.
I'm lazy, so creating a new character would be too hard. With that in mind, we will write about David and his friends in college.
Be warned that the writing style for this series will be different. It will no longer be simply first person from David's point of view. If I'd realized how limiting that was when writing a story I would never have started that way. This way I can get other character perspectives and move the story along easier.
The other change will it will not be such a compressed timeline. It won't be a day-by-day diary of David's life.
I've always said that I wrote Stupid Boy to learn to write. I am hoping that A Better Man will help move that along.
Thank you for all your feedback and for putting up with my warped sense of humor.

Congratulations to all the winners and thank you for voting me Author of the Year. G. Younger
Some readers have asked for a cast list for the Stupid Boy series. Bud Ugly, my editor that keeps track of such things, informed me that we were 27 names short of 1200 characters. That number staggered me.
So, we decided to focus on just senior year. The list does not begin to describe or even name all of them, but only addresses those who have significant parts to play in our current story.
The cast members are grouped by affiliation to our main character: family, friends, school, sports activities, business, movies, modeling, etc. The easiest way to find a character is to use CTRL-F and enter the character name. That will save the reader a lot of manual searching and scrolling. Note that many characters are listed more than once, as they have multiple roles in our story.
WARNING: There are spoilers here, so be careful what you read.
Please note that what I have currently is a work in progress and when I get the time I will add to it, but it's a start. Right now it only had his closest friends and family. Over the next week or so I will flesh it out.
