Wednesday will wrap up this story. Alex has been one of my favorite characters to write about. I am planning on two more books for this series. Don't ask when ... ;-)
I just put up an Advanced Reader Copy of The Third Son on my website. Growing up I read mostly fantasy and science fiction. While writing this book I found out how hard it is.
Thankfully, Old Rotorhead saved me with his medieval and military advice. So a special shout to him for his help.
The second A Better Man book has 20 chapters written. I am guessing it will be about 90 when done. That means I have no real idea when I'll have it completed. I would love to get it done by the end of the year.
Thanks

I began writing for fun. Over the long weekend, I sat down at a keyboard and began a short story about a guy and a gal. Come Monday evening I'd written almost 200 pages.
That story ended being Stupid Boy.
I wanted to send a quick note to everyone that encouraged me back then to continue writing. What started out as fun has turned into a passion.
Thanks

Thanks to everyone that voted. My team was very pleased with the results, as was I.
Thank You.
The next book in the David series (A Better Man) will begin posting on SOL after Conclave is done.
I am currently writing a fantasy book, The Third Son, and it should be done shortly. I will send out an email when it is available.
Finally, I've started writing the second Better Man book. Wild guess is it will be ready around the end of the year.
Thanks again for voting for my books and for Author of the Year and also the Lifetime Achievement Award - who knew that it had been that long.
I'll be posting my crime thriller, Conclave.
Note that it has short chapters, so I will be posting two chapters per week. One on Saturday and the next on Wednesday.
Thanks

Memorial Day weekend of 2014 (last weekend in May) I sat down and decided to start writing. What started out as a short story about David and Tami turned out to be a hot mess.
First, I had never written anything that wasn't business-related. So my style was very formal. Second I thought I could edit my own work. To this day, I am amazed that the story was received as well as it was.
That three-day weekend I wrote over a hundred pages. I'd found SOL and read a few of the stories. Many you will find in my favorite's list. My goal was to post a few chapters and see if anyone liked it, or if I was wasting my time.
I was shocked at the positive feedback. Probably the most helpful was from Rev. Cotton Mather who both encouraged me and pointed me to the volunteer editors.
Like I said, Stupid Boy was supposed to be a short story. I planned to use it to help me learn to write. My ultimate goal was to write a story called Star Academy that I'd been slowly outlining for a few years. But I knew I wasn't ready to tackle it yet.
What followed was Stupid Boy just kept growing and next week will be the last chapter of this series.
I want to thank everyone involved in creating and all the readers that have enjoyed the story.
So, what's next.
I have already written the next book in the David story and intend to get him through college. The series is called A Better Man.
As you can imagine, at some point I needed a break from David and friends. Since ending the ABM1, I've written a couple of other books. You will see the first one, Conclave, begin to post in March or April. It is an action/adventure story about a fish out of water.
Note that ABM1 will begin posting after I've posted Conclave.
Currently, I am writing The Third Son. It is a sword/sorcerer book. Growing up I mostly read fantasy and sci-fi. When that is done it is back to ABM2. The goal is to have it ready as an Advanced Ready Copy by the end of the year.
Thanks for reading and all the feedback. If not for SOL and its readers I would not have improved my craft.
