I am pleased to announce the release of my novel Plan. It can be found on my website, VeryWellAged.com, at the bottom of my list of works in print.
A friend (who has yet to provide me with his penname and so for now he will be anonymous) is working on writing his own stories, ones that bring a perspective I don't have and find fascinating. He asked a question to which I was sure I knew the answer, but he thinks I may be wrong. As I have been wrong often enough in this life, we have decided to conduct a poll. He and I invite all of you to vote on the questions linked to in my NOTES page on my VeryWellAged dot com website.
All formats of the new novel, based on the novella here, are now posted on VeryWellAged.com. While I and my editors have endeavored to remove the errors, some of you will find some of those that got away. Please be so kind as to report them!
The sequel is written and has been sent off for editing. However, I don’t expect to post that on my website until October.
As I prepare to shortly remove the novella version of Gang Aft Agley from my website (VeryWellAged.com) in favor of the new novel of the same name (a reworking of that story now in novel form, it struck me that I needed to preserve what has existed, even though I do not want it presented on the site as the ‘official’ version of that title any more. Still removing it entirely, erasing it, seems like a step too destructive. For the time being, I have moved my local copies the ebooks, PDF and HTML versions of the novella in a local archive folder that will also be backed up for preservation.
The novella still exists on my website, as the novel is still being edited. (An earlier and error filled version still exists here on the SOL website. But the SOL version here is plagued with errors.) My official novella version will give way yet later this month to the novel and no longer be available for download. Will anyone really care? Is this a silent rage into that good night? I don’t know if this is pure ego, or has some meaning. All I know is that I have done it.
I have uploaded the full second edition of Quarantine Chronicles:Dan in all formats on my site (VeryWellAged.com).
While the story does not change from what was intended in the first edition, this edition cleans up errors in details and fixes dates that had lead to continuity errors.
There were areas in first version where what should have been one speaker was left to look as if there were two or more speakers. This edition also fixes problems in the HTML code that were not seen in the other formats. This is because the HTML version is created in an after-the-fact manner, taking the original material and massaging it to be usable as a webpage. While some parts of this process are fairly simple, the hyperlinks and the creating of the 'texting' portions are pretty code intensive.
While I suspect that my site is now pretty dead except for a very small number of you and most of you have decided to give up on this novel, I repost this novel of the site anyway. The sad truth is that with the demise of the original ASSTR, there is no 'new audience" readily drawn to discover an author's work.
Yes, I know you are reading this on SOL, but my work, due to the laws of Canada, where this site resides, do not allow my work to reside here. Further, the format my work is presented in, and is essential to the novels, is not accommodated here.
It further occurs to me that those who insist on using reader mode, trying to experience the work as if it were presented here, find my works impossible as they must be read as I have presented them. Reader mode makes the works essentially unintelligible.
