I check on the activity here out of basic curiosity. There's nothing new here and there hasn't been in eight year. All the stories here have more up-to-date versions on my own website, searchable via my name VeryWellAged.
It is nice to see the interest from those reading my earlier versions of my earlier works posted on SOL, but frustrating as each has been updated and corrected on my site.
So I am ambivalent about the activity here.
In all honesty, I haven't posted, or even updated, anything here in eight years. (Other than an attempt to get a universe started with others that failed miserably.)
And so as a collection of earlier and un-updated work, my work here normally gets about fifty page views a week on average. Sure it flexes up a bit and goes down a bit. But that is all.
But as of just now there are two hundred and sixty-six page views, most occurring in the last twenty-four hours. I would love to know why. This is not an active site for me.
For a long time in the more recent past my work appeared on ASSTR but that site, while it is still running, lost my (and eventually all) indexes to its authors. So that was a problem and it would often go down for extended times.
As a result, though I knew far fewer folks would visit it, I did create my own website, which is searchable under my name, VeryWellAged. That site has also seen a significant amount of traffic recently.
I haven't even posted a new story on my current site since April and there is absolutely nothing new here.
Is there something I don't know about?
I am pleased to note that Quarantine Chronicles: Jon is now available, on my website https://verywellaged.com, in all formats.
I am appreciative of those four who have contributed to my new site, VeryWellAged.com. I can tell you that it is stable for at least two more years. I have placed the money in the account I have with the web hosting company. They tell me that they will debit that account each time a payment is due. So the more I get, the longer the site will endure. It is that simple.
My new stable site (verywellaged.com) is up and funded for at least a year.
I would like to have enough funds contributed to keep it going for far longer, but at least it won't go dark in just a few days. I am in the process of pulling everything down from the ASSTR site so that there won't be out of date versions on my work there also. It is bad enough that there are textual difference between what is on SOL and my current versions on my official site.
