Um. Wow. I'm humbled.

Like the title says, I'm humbled. Because today the count for my little story went for over 450,000 downloads but also over 3,000 votes.

That means that not only are people reading the story but they are liking it since the score has stayed in the relatively higher score since the last chapter was added. I know I shouldn't pay attention to that number but hey, sue me. I'll try not to cry about it too often though.

I thank you. Seriously. Thank you.

Makes me wanna skip searching for MILF porn and actually do some writing.

Whew! That was close! I damn near closed the browser and opened the OpenOffice writer. Jeez, that was close.

Well, I do have the MILF site bookmarked. I can always go back to it. Yep. 450,000 and 3,000 votes. You guys deserve a treat. No MILF porn tonight, instead tonight I will work on the next chapter.

You're welcome.

A Funny Thing Happened...

A funny thing happened to me while I was reading the news off the front page of Yahoo. (Don't worry I had to check some of my free Yahoo mail. I don't use Yahoo as a primary source for the news.)

I saw a headline for a story. It read:

NHL Rumors: John Tavares Expected To Sign With One Of These Three Teams.

I don't care about hockey, but it did remind me that our boy Cold Creek has not given us another glimpse to the world of the DMan.

Mike Stewart for all we know should have been front and center this summer as a free agent for the NHL. Since he was also drafted in the same draft as Mr. Tavares.

But no. We have to live with the entire backstory and all the poon he had and let slip through his fingers. But hey... I think I found something to do this weekend and remind myself of the fantabulous life of a college hockey, fashion modeling, international man of mystery that in all rights will probably end with Mike waking himself up from his daydream of an entirely different life while standing in the rain over the grave of his father and mother who was interred six months previously.

Ugh. I hope I'm wrong and if I'm not then I apologize to the readers of this blog as well as the fans of Cold Creek's DMan series.

Okay... I hears ya!

I'm sorry.
Oh, my bad.
My fault, bro.
I'm so sorry.
I apologize.
My mistake.
I had that wrong.
I owe you an apology.
I want to apologize.
I wanted to tell you I'm sorry.
I hope you can forgive me.
That was wrong of me.
I sincerely apologize.
I take full responsibility.

All that and then some everybody. I was simply looking for a little guidance and direction on if I pushed myself a little and actually worked harder on the chapters... no let me take that back.

I work DAMN HARD on these chapters. I just don't work too often on these chapters. Like a kid who knows the test is tomorrow morning so I inhale the entire book get an 'A' on the test and forget the whole friggin' thing twenty minutes after turning in the test.

I tend to leave it until I feel like working on it. It is usually when I don't see any of my favorite stories being updated and/or I can't decide on what story I'd like to re-read. So it's usually on those nights that I can work on Mayhem.

What I wanted to find out is would the score rise if I posted chapters quicker, with the same amount of work and at a regular pace. I started out with that idea and yes for the first few chapters, it worked. But then the ugly head of procrastination rises and puts a damper on everything.

It was pretty much universally told to me through what was easily the most emails I have EVER received since first posting, make sure the quality isn't sacrificed to meet some arbitrary deadline I think I need to post by.

Message received. I will keep the ship going along and if for some strange ass reason I find myself working on the next chapter, deadlines ain't mean shit!

A Quick Question.

I know we are supposed to act like we don't care about the scores for our work but dammit I do care about my score. And for my first piece of fiction, I think a current score of 8.09 is a great score.

But I wanted to ask if you think I could increase the score of the story by posting more often. I mean I have the ability to post more often. I don't know if my editors could handle it. I mean I am pretty sure they need hours upon hours of psychological help after reading through my prose-vomit. They way they turn it into something legible and closely looking like something built with the English language.

If I could get to posting once every like couple of weeks, do you think that would help the score rise or is there something else I could to help inflate the score. (By this point, I feel I have to keep building the story as is without focusing on older Tim or younger high school Tim. I'm writing about both and putting them in the same story.) If this was earlier one, and knowing what I know now, I could have broke them up into two different books and have them in the same universe.

I do know I feel happier when the score rises and it makes me actually work on the next chapter. Even if that fleeting feeling quickly passes but that was an hour or so of me typing that normally would have been spent looking for MILF porn or handicapping the next years college ranks in football for the professional ranks in the NFL. But now I also get to look forward to the American Alliance of Football and the following year, the rebuilt XFL by the purveyor of fine theatrical arts Vince McMahon.

By I digress... would a higher score come with me chugging out chapters or should I just stay the course and be happy where I am at?

Thanks,

Finally! Some good news!!!

Hey all.

Sorry about the long time between chapters but for some reason this one was not working for me and I couldn't put my finger on why. So I had to leave it alone for a while and take a look at it later. That worked a good couple of weeks later.

So I'll let you know I have just sent the latest chapter off for first edits and when they go through all then I'll release. But the other bit of good news was since I had time to kill and needed to let that part of the story marinate until ready, I got started on the next chapter which goes to the other segment of the story. I should be able to get this chapter out much quicker than this last one. Believe me, I hate not getting it out to you guys almost as much as you guys wanna read it.

Some like that I have split the story this way and others wish I would either get rid of the split or write two different books. I seriously gave some thought to that idea but in the end decided to leave it like it is and just continue on the path I started.

Okay, so that's it. A new chapter for "Mayhem in a Pill" should be coming up within a week or week in a half. Depends on editors and since I can't write very well and those guys do an amazing job making my prose sound... prosey.

Tee Hee.
