Shinerdrinker: Favourites

1: Island Mine by Refusenik
This story is the number one reason I decided to go ahead and start writing for the first time since high school. I wish I can get to the point in my life where I can write something as good as this. Screw the typos. I don't care.
2: Dman 3 by Cold Creek
Great story. Make sure to read the others in the Dman series first. But I put this one in my favorites list since it actually creates a psychological reaction every time I read this whole series. And that is why you should read.
3: Aftermath by Al Steiner
I wish I would have written this story. I don't think there could be higher praise from another author like me, even if I'm a wanna-be author. I also loved the fact that when this story was published all of a sudden several movies and TV shows seemed to try to visualize the end of the world and the people who might have survived.
4: Banner Year by Shrink42
One of my favorite stories, period. I actually realized during the third time I read this story, that there were typos all over the place... but I still don't care! Every few months, I find myself reading it again and still enjoying it.
5: Arlene and Jeff by RoustWriter
I like many others was a little worried about how the story began but I went ahead and kept going through the story. Now, I wish RoustWriter would post twice a week because I NEED to find out what happens next!
6: John and Argent by cmsix
The granddaddy of them all. This goes as one of my favorites, simply because it hooked me from the beginning. It also sent me on a tour of every do over story I could find since it is so easy to use your own imagination and put yourself in that same place. "What would you do?" That's a great question to ask yourself.
7: A Fresh Start by rlfj
Wow. Another one of those "I wish I could write like this someday" stories. I still remember the thrill when I would see a new chapter come up in the queue. I knew I would have a good time and I knew I would probably read it again. I think I know what to do this next weekend. I think this weekend I'll follow along again when Carl Buckman rubbed Aladdin's Lamp and became a kid again. All he wanted to do was get back to the love of his life and do it all again.
8: Stone Age Cabin by Wildnature
This is a newer addition to my list. My reasoning is simple, I've read this story many times, and each time I like it just as much as the last time. That is the sign of a great story. Even though I know what is going to happen, I'll happily follow along and read it once again. I even find myself sending queries for an update from the writer but alas, to no avail. I can always hope. Either that or I find out where the bar that Wildnature and Cold Creek are hiding out!
9: The Private by Random Writings
The action sequences in this story are by far the most vivid and easy to follow I have ever read. It's like reading a action sequence from a movie directed by Michael Bay. All kinds of shit happening in a highly stylized and compact way. Lots o' splosions with pretty colors and you can easily follow along with the story. The descriptions are so good, I feel like I can describe the action at the same time but from a different perspective. That is action writing. You can hear it, feel it smell it touch it and most of all enjoy it. Can't wait to see what happen's next!
10: A New Past by Charlie Foxtrot
The details are decidedly precise but it falls short of Too Much Information. The writing is top notch and the story is well paced. It was an actual joy to my week when I see new updates coming. Read it, you'll enjoy your time being well spent.
11: Junior Year Part II by G Younger
This is the latest story in the series but I'm placing the entire "Stupid Boy" series on my list of favorites. I anxiously await the Saturday updates. G Younger was smart enough to write the whole thing first and get it edited, then he posted. Then make any final mistakes pointed out by the eagle-eyed readers corrected. He has now entered the cut throat world of trying to sell his stories for a larger audience than just those of SOL. And if his monetary success comes anywhere near the quality of his writing, then we might have to start worrying about who they are going to cast in the role of Stupid Boy once Hollywood gets a hold of it. Don't forget to go ahead and try any of the other stories he has written. They are all worth the effort to read them. When you finish, you'll realize it wasn't that much of a chore.
12: John Billionaire by bluedragon
Bluedragon is an amazing author and I worship at his feet. Quality takes time but it is OHH SOO worth it! All of Bluedragon's stories are amazing but I put John Billionaire on my list since it was the first of his stories I read. I remember actually crying at the end because I was so happy. We are in the middle of his Ordinary Sex Life series and if you have the time... start from the beginning. You won't be disappointed.
13: Second Chance by Number 7
Not only is this a pretty good story but Number 7's inhuman posting schedule of pretty much a chapter a day is incredible. I would be remiss if i did not also include Number 7's editor Mike O. Even though a second editor would help stop the numerous mistakes, however can you imagine finding one but two editors willing to meet this posting schedule.
14: Daze in the Valley by Jay Cantrell
What can you say about this great story. I can tell you after the first time I read this story, it totally reshaped the way I looked at porn. I still looked at it but I actually thought about it to the point of noticing when the performers don't like each other and how the scene suffers because of it. Great read... I think I might read it again next weekend!
15: Alan by Julian Coreto
This was the first story I found on SOL. A friend sent me a link to the story and said I might like this read and even this site. The story needs serious grammatical help and it is incomplete but I still think of it fondly as the first piece of erotic fiction I read over the net. For fun I re-wrote this story but I think I understand a big reason why, Julian Coreto never finished it. I didn't know where to take it also. But damn it is a nice ride! To say this story was my first bump of erotic fiction is a great way to describe how now I pull up SOL at least three to four times a day, just to see what is new! Yeah, I'm hooked so what. Why aren't you!
16: Legion by JustDan
Wow! I had intended to start reading this story just before going to sleep. I usually do that to help calm myself for a good nights sleep. I ended up reading it straight through and now I am desperately attempting to calm myself down so I can get SOME sleep. Please oh please JustDan, don't let this story die!
17: Friday Night Lights by The Senator
I'm rounding out the choices with a story that served as a great primer for me to write football into my first story, "Mayhem in a Pill." I love the overall feel The Senator created through the whole piece. He had me imagining what football in Michigan is like and just how different from Texas it is. Not better or worse, just different... (who are we kidding, it's much worse!)
