//Proofreader's note
In case there are any readers that are grammar bashers, let me just say that my main focus as a proofreader is making any parts of the story that don't quite fit, flow into the rest of the story. That's not to say that I ignore grammar issues, I just don't focus on them. If you're the sort of person that lets a misplaced comma ruin what is one the best Sci-fi stories I've ever come across on SOL, or any other site, then I pity you. For everyone else, I hope you continue to enjoy this story as much as I am.

Yes, it is true. The Flight of the Code Monkey will be proofed by other eyes than my own starting with Chapter 3. That will push back my postings to twice a month I am thinking. One of the proof readers is a retired Force Recon Sergeant Major from my own home town who looked over a few of my stories from the dormant Station Gorge universe that I've never posted because I haven't finished writing them.

Thanks for all the great feedback I've been getting, and I hope everyone will enjoy the read even more.

When the first book of this series is done, there WILL be much more of the story coming. But at this time I don't know what my writing schedule will be. Life happens and I am also working on the on-going continuing story, Growing Home which is Book 2 of that series.

After thinking about it and reading over what I had written so far on the space opera I was working on before I started writing Knocking On Door as a single short story quick vacation, I realized I didn't have all that much more to write before I came to the end of what would be book one of the space opera.

So now I have re-edited all of the first 14 chapters and only have to finish chapter 15 to come to the end of Book One of The Flight of the Code Monkey. This story series will be part of the Growing Home in Space universe. And yes, there is a connection.

So, now that I am writing this, heck, I'll post the first chapter while I am online...right now.

Writing the next bunch of chapters for Growing Home is proceeding well. Lots of plot ideas I am going to be covering and some fun stuff that I as a writer have to look forward to typing.

On the other hand, this whole Knock On Door and Growing Home started out as what I thought was going to be one short story I was using to blow the pipes clean while I was writing this other sci-fi story. That story is presently 14 chapters long with the shortest chapter being 35 page long in MS Word and the longest chapter being 82 pages long.

My plan was to finish the first part of that story before I ever uploaded the first chapter. That way I could post every week or two on a regular schedule. I figure I've got eight to ten chapters to cover before I reach a logical break between the first book and the second book in the sci-fi story. On top of that, the spring-summer-fall concert season is upon me and with PA jobs coming, I'll have less time to write, edit, and noodle around the laptop. I need to decide how to proceed.

So, if another story starts being posted on SOL, it doesn't mean I've stopped writing Growing Home. I've been posting new chapters every three or four weeks and I don't see that changing. However, I might take a break and work on the sci-fi thing after I reach the next logical or illogical break in the story of James, Raisha, Jhoni, and the girls.
