Okay, I messed up.
I was in such a hurry to post this last chapter I didn't go up and do the accept changes and all that.
I have reposted a clean version, I hope.
Let me know if I goofed up.
thanks for reading.
I now have a second proofreader working with me on the Flight of the Code Monkey, so turnaround time before posting new chapters might be extended beyond the week to ten days I'd stated in earlier blogs.
This will make your first reads much better, believe me.
I am now on chapter 17 so there is a lot more story for everyone to read. The nice thing about being so far ahead of the posted chapters is that I am able to incorporated lessons I've picked up from my proofreaders into unposted chapters and also go back to unposted chapters to update the subplots that pop up while I am writing later chapters.
thanks again for reading, voting, and emailing.
the kid wigger
Sorry I missed two edits in the last chapter I posted.
Posted fix.
forgive me my bad
Yes, I do have 15 chapters of Flight of the Code Monkey finished and I am working on more. To what ever point a writer ever finishes a chapter.
However, those chapter have not been sent to my proofreader. He now has chapter 5 and will get it back to me in his good time. But that has been rather quick.
The thing that is nice about being so far ahead is that it allows time for me to go back to unposted chapters when something comes up that needs foreshadowing, or when a reader points out the misuse of ordinance when I met ordnance. I can go back and tinker and fix things. If any of you have gone back to previouly posted chapters, you will see the update time tags might advance as I fix things I missed. When this book is done, you might want to reread it after a bit of time has passed. It will flow better.
I also know that presently in the US military, you address a woman officer as Ma'am, but there have been about 390 years or so between now and the flight of this Code Monkey. Polictical tides have been moving back and forth across the sea of humanity as we spread out into the stars. Not all of those agendas are going to be seen as progressive by those not holding similar views.
Explanations abound in the coming chapters.
So, yes untimely.xxxx, I will be teasing all of you with a new posted chapter every week or so.
Sorry for not changing the xxx section break usage to a center line in chapter 4. I thought I got all of those change in all of my chapters, but I missed that one. One reader told me how much of a bump it was to go from Ureeblay to the stars without knowing something was different. So now, there is a centered rule between Ureeblay's story line and Jameson's story line.
I also accidently posted the next to last proofed version last night on Chapter 4. The mistakes in that are mine and not my wonderful proofreader's.
My bad.
Enjoy the read. I have chapter 15 almost finished. I posted in an earlier blog that this first book of FoCM would have 15 chapter. Well, it will have more. I decided I would not make readers suffer through the cliffhanger I had planned and will advance the story further before book one ends.
Book Two chapters are being outlined already.
thanks for reading.
