He was an American reporter. She was a war widow with a nine year old son. They met in an Underground station in the middle of the Blitz and it was love at first sight, at least on his part. She had a few issues to work out first. Then a V2 rocket changed everything. So, read on and discover how our hero deals with unspeakable loss. There's a war crime involved and the inevitable twist. But love will beat miscommunication and - payback's always a bitch.

It's hard to say which topic I enjoy more… time travel or alt-history. Those aren't mutually exclusive. So, I'm exploring what might happen if my hero finds himself in an alternative universe where it's 1962, and the Germans are winning World War Two. Part of the story involves how he got there and what he does when he arrives. The rest is a simple love story with a profound twist. There's a bit of sting theory thrown in. And extra credit to anybody who figures out how the title ties in.

Each July, I post a story to honor those who’ve served. The heroes in this were famous in their time but forgotten now. I want to remind you who they were... He had more money than morals. But he was living a perfect life until the Japanese spoiled the fun. The misery of Santo Tomas showed him who he was, and a tough Army nurse made him into the man he wanted to be. Read on and discover the Angels of Bataan. These real-life heroines put new meaning to the words honor, duty, and courage.

Two thousand years ago Quinctilius Varus lost three Legions and an uncountable treasure in the forests of Germany. Now, some of that gold has begun to turn up in Paris and the "Organization" is getting paid to track it down. Follow our two stalwart agents through the twists and turns of this long serialized novel as they battle their way to the eventual answer.

He was an Irish cop, from the toughest part of Manhattan. She was a Cheyenne maiden, from the Montana High Country. He rescued her from some very bad men. In return, she mended his broken heart. The whole improbable story plays out against the panorama of the Civil War and America's relentless movement West. There's a bit of a twist at the end. But, who doesn't like surprises?

I thought I'd put this up a long time ago, which is why I kept referring to it in Hilley Ascending (what can I say - I'm old - I drink - I forget things). It foreshadows who Hilley becomes. She is eight years old here, and traveling with her parents in Europe. The story itself is much shorter than usual. But you will meet a number of the characters who appear later in Hilley's life. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did writing it.

He's a hard headed County Sheriff with one failed marriage. She's a beautiful and mysterious lady with a past that doesn't make sense. It might sound crazy. But, he is beginning to suspect that the woman he is falling in love with is the victim of a seventy year old murder. Two different stories with the same premise and same characters.

It seemed like too much money to simply retrieve a cheating wife. But then the wife turned up dead and our heroes found themselves drawn inexorably deeper into a terror plot. You might think that none of what then ensues is plausible. But, you would be completely wrong. Most of it's already happened - somewhere. Of course there's a twist. But the four of you who read me know that's to be expected. Please enjoy...

I spent a decade in Washington working with NSA and later DHS. This story depicts the DC culture as I witnessed it. I posted the original on another site, a while back. I thought I'd spiff it up and re-post it here. A few of you might think that I'm describing a den of iniquity. In the immortal words of Francis Urquhart "You might very well think that; I couldn't possibly comment."
