That's about it

Posted at Updated:

If I have timed it right the last two chapters of the third - and last - book of 'The Hidden Heritage' will come out on Friday. If somebody still wants to support me and also buy the books from wherever it is, I do not mind ;) - but there's no need to do so.

I know that I have promised that the third part of 'Collateral Damage' will be finished next, but I cannot make any promises there, since that series needs 'a special kind of state of mind' and at the moment I just don't have it. Don't worry, it will come when it gets even darker here and the weather turns worse. Meanwhile, I have been writing another book that may someday come out as a fantasy book - a single book this time. Then there's an idea of another series and... - and unfortunately, there are also bills to pay and work to do.

However, I'm still writing - and sometimes I will even answer my emails.

A day late

Sorry, I forgot that my automated posts lasted only until last week and the next two chapters of 'The Merchants' will come out today, a day late.

Two years

It was almost exactly two years ago when I started posting 'The Hidden Heritage book I: The Guardians'. Two years. Over 1200 pages as paperbacks. Just why didn't anybody warn me? Seriously - this has been quite a learning experience to me. After finishing some longer stories here at SOL I didn't think that writing three books would be such a big deal. Well, maybe it isn't for some other writers but it sure was for me!

Especially when my characters refused to follow the plot I had so carefully outlined! Damn them!

However, I have decided to forgive Stian and posting 'The Hidden Heritage book III: The Merchants' starts the following Friday. There should be two chapters posted every Friday and I can already warn you that some of the chapters are a bit shorter than they were in books I & II while the last book is somewhat longer totally. Voting will also open at some point, not immediately.

And yes, I continue writing and my intention is to finish 'The Collateral Damage' -series and write the second part to 'The Incomplete Man'. Just let me enjoy this feeling, even if only for a short moment.

A long journey

When I just checked I noticed that my first version of 'The Hidden Heritage' -trilogy and 'The Guardians' is from 2016, the beginning of 'The Scholars' from 2017 and the first notes of 'The Merchants' from 2018. Quite a lot has changed since then - and more than a 1000 pages has been written. More than a 1000 pages! When the idea of this series came to me I didn't really understand the enormity of the task. Writing, editing and publishing more than 1000 pages of text.

It's not just me, but all my editors and the other people who have helped me. Thank you!

The first version of 'The Merchants' is now finished. There's still a whole lot of editing, lots of changes to be done and quite a many tasks before the trilogy is fully ready. But that's different kind of work. Posting will start as soon as the story has been fully edited.

Scary things

Review. Every writer wants that her or his stories are read and reviewed - if some writer claims otherwise he or she probably lies at least somewhat. By review I mean a REAL review, not those you can sometimes read at Amazon, some that make me really wonder if the reviewer has really read the story. When you are anonymous you don't really need to take responsibility of what you say, I guess.

Reviews here feel different to me. Maybe it's the fact that several of the people who give these reviews are also writers - some professional and some probably amateurs like myself. At least to me writing a review would be a big thing, almost like writing a story. Maybe even more difficult, since openly judging something that can be really personal to the writer.

Now, maybe I dare to read what has been said about one of my stories...
