Jim Horn had been given a battlefield commission during the war for Southern Independence, and had become one of the Souths youngest officers.
He'd been accused of war crimes against prisoners and was on the run, until a Ranger Captain cleared his name and gave him a job as a Texas Ranger.
Jim Horn survived the war for Southern Independence, and learned many hard lessons from the experience that helped when he accepted a job as a Texas Ranger.
