Lara Finn, a high school student, returns home from school on a hot day. She neglects her chores, including doing laundry. With graduation approaching, Lara looks forward to becoming a senior and being part of the popular crowd with her boyfriend Todd. Her older sister Kayla is away at college. Their widowed mother, Carla, works as a realtor, leaving Lara with little parental supervision. Running out of clean clothes for her date with Todd, Lara decides to borrow some of Kayla's clothing.
