Doctor Franklin Pierce and his sister learned their profession during the Civil War. After the war they started a mobile practice to treat women, delivering babies, Hysteria, and other ailments, as they traveled in a route from Kansas City south to Parsons then back up to Kansas City before winter. They had become lovers, but everyone assumed they were married! This is the story of their first year on the circuit.
