Chapter 9

When Cindy arrived home, Will escorted her to the door and left her with a simple "Good Night". Amanda tried hard not to be the "Doting Mama" and she stayed in her room until she heard Cindy in the house and Will's car driving away. She knew what had happened, and really, in her heart, wanted to hear all about it. But there was no way in the world she could just walk up to Cindy and ask how her first sex was. She decided she would give Cindy whatever time she needed, and then go to her bedroom to talk, if she stayed there.

Cindy was in the shower when Amanda entered her room. She could smell the aroma of Will's cologne in the air. Cindy came out of her bathroom in a robe, a towel wrapped around her wet hair.

"How was your first date, honey?"

"He is just dreamy, Mom."

"I can smell his cologne all over your room. What did you guys do all day?"

Cindy had not thought of how to answer that question. It probably would have helped if she had talked with Will about what to say. By the time she managed to say, " We went for a ride in the country in his cool car, and then he showed me his cabin in the woods. We sat on the beach, he's got a little lake there too, and we swam." she realized that those activities would not take up the entire day and evening. She didn't have anything else to say.

"But you didn't take a suit. What did you do the rest of the day?"

Cindy decided that honesty was probably the best avenue to take. "We had sex, Mom. I slept with him. And we did other stuff like that too."

"I'm not surprised. I kind of expected you would do something pretty soon, because I have watched how your hormones have really been giving you a hard time this summer. Did you enjoy it?"

"Oh, Mom, I don't know how to describe it. The first time, it hurt a lot, but that was my fault, not his, because I was a virgin. But after that, oh ... and then later, with some of the other things, they kind of hurt too, at least until the end, but then wow!"
