Rick had just popped into a two dollar shop to get some art material, for he was meeting George, a friend that had been off the radar for some months, since re-connecting with Elizabeth after he had returned from a business trip overseas. Just as he began to leave a woman pushing a trolley said, ‘Excuse me do I know you?’

The question puzzled him for he had no idea who she was, but he was not going to let a get to know opportunity disappear, she was a woman, certainly not a candidate for a fashion or modelling magazine. ‘I do belong to a few organizations, I can’t place you but I would like to know you’. That statement took her back, she didn’t expect such and encouraging one and in the seconds before she pondered a response, Rick struck again. ‘I am meeting a friend for coffee would you like to join us?’

Now she was in unchartered waters, she came weekly in hope someone would take an interest in her, she lived alone and had no friends, now she was invited for coffee, almost in a frantic response she gasped, ‘Thank you, I would like that’.

‘ Great’ Rick replied ‘You only have a couple of bags I will carry them for a trolley can be annoying in among the tables at the coffee place’, he smiling concluded. It also enabled him to grasp her fingers and gauge her reaction as they had just met and he was thankful that her bags were light and could be carried in a single grip, however, as he took hold of a finger she immediately grabbed all of his fingers, telling him that she could be open for further intimacy. It was then that he introduced himself. ‘I am Rick’ he said ‘I am Gloria’ came the reply with an extra squeeze on his fingers.

George was on his mobile a practice that seemed to be standard with mobile users, but for a second a surprise expression crossed his brow but there was no hesitation in welcoming the woman after introduction had been prounced. ‘George this is Gloria, Gloria George’. Small talk follow, compliment after compliment. Never before has she been so welcomed or praised and when Rick gave her thigh a squeeze she countered by gripping his, but did give a mild gasp when her grip was shifted to his groin, but she didn’t pull away and that position remained till she said she had come by bus and when Rick suggested that he could drive her home as he was driving George, she thanked him, although if she had know to observe body language she would have noticed the surprise glance on George’s face for he had his own vehicle.
