Chapter 7

Labor day was just a week away, and Karen wanted to have a cookout and pool party and invited a few friends from work, along with her sister Kathy and her family on Saturday, which left them the other two days to relax. Saturday evening the party began to breakup, and soon all that was left was Kathy's family. Derrick felt exhausted from all of the mental voices he heard that day. One voice in particular gave him a chuckle. It was from a husband of one of the girls that Karen worked with, that couldn't keep his eyes off of Karen. Each time she would pass by him on the way to the pool or into the house he would silently say stuff like what a body she had, or he bet she was a terror in bed. He was right on just about everything he thought, and Derrick thought it funny that that was the only thing the guy could think about the entire day.

Derrick was helping Karen take the plates and cups in the house and was placing a load in the dishwasher when Megan passed by. She stopped at the doorway leading from the kitchen to the hallway and looked over at Derrick. "Uncle Derrick. You didn't' say if you liked my new suit. Do you?"

As Derrick looked up, she opened her bathrobe and gave a sexy pose for a few moments. "Like it?"

Derrick thought he would play along with her. "Sure it looks good, but too bad it covers up what is in it. That would look even better."

Megan didn't know how to react to his comment and could only smile and turn towards to bathroom. She was enjoying the new game of flirting with her uncle, and began to think that maybe she was wrong about her mom and him.
