Author's Note.
THIS is the story I thought I was submitting under the title of "The Birth of Shadow". It really IS the birth of Shadow Brigade. It tells the story referred to when Sgt. Terry WARD was in the hospital and met the Countess Jade Leofa.
THIS is the story that FASA didn't like and with more writing experience I can see part of their reasoning however I will send it along to you in hopes that you will enjoy it.
