Chapter 6

After a night of guilt, Laura tossed and turned worrying about school officials, her husband and her neighbors learning about her affair with Scott, Laura was determined to end this affair regardless of the thrills that she had experienced over the past few days. She knew that ultimately her behavior would become known and that it would be a disaster unless she stopped it quickly. She dressed, taking infinite care to ensure that her clothing hid her sexual charms, as before, her thoughts were upon how she would tell Scott that she could not continue their affair.

Her resolve remained strong until the last period of the day. At that time, she had to confront Scott. He remained after class to set up a rendezvous for that evening. He was all excited about having Ben and him pleasure her in even more bizarre ways. As soon as he finished with his excited chatter about the upcoming thrills she would experience that evening, she responded despondently, "No, there will be no more nights of sex and fun with you or anyone outside of my marriage. As I told both of you last night, that was the last time either of you will ever be in my bed. I can't live with the guilt and fear of discovery. You know that I have enjoyed our nights together and find it difficult to stop. Neither you nor I can afford the consequences of discovery. Perhaps, at some point in the future, we can resume our affair but not now. We must stop, please don't tempt me. Let me live in peace for a while."
