Melissa watches carefully as Janet comes to terms with the situation. Mistress Bethany clearly hasn’t fully prepared Janet for this event. Knowing Mistress Bethany’s tactics, Melissa is sure that will have been a deliberate ploy on her mistress’s part. Mistress Bethany is testing Janet, who will either leave at once, or embrace the situation she has entered. Bethany must be confident in her appraisal of Janet, since nothing Melissa has said about Janet would give her much guidance beyond what her mistress overhears during the fortnightly phone call Melissa has been making to her sister.
Melissa’s part in this drama is over for now. Her mistress hasn’t given her permission to stand and Melissa’s improvised gag makes her powerless to verbally influence her sister’s actions. Janet is on her own with that decision. Rightly or wrongly, Melissa can’t stop her strong attraction towards her sibling from re-igniting. As soon as their parents detected that Melissa, Greg and Janet all shared a closer-than-healthy sibling bond, they were kept apart as much as possible. The siblings were each enrolled at different secondary schools, and holidays were a succession of camps and activities that they rarely attended together. And yet their three-way emotional bond to each other grew stronger over time. Melissa and Janet both suspected that they were destined to be bi-sexual long before they were sexually active.
Janet stands frozen in place. Melissa knows from experience that if Janet wants to return to anything like a normal life, then she must depart at once. Once ensnared, Mistress Bethany rarely lets her victims escape.
If flight was ever Janet’s intention, then she misses her chance. Mistress locks the door to the study, trapping Janet inside. In Melissa’s current bound state, the locked door serves no purpose in confining Melissa. To Janet, however, it signals her last moment of freedom. Whether she likes it or not, she is now part of Mistress Bethany’s and Melissa’s dark world. Melissa briefly feels a small twinge of guilt for being happy at the thought.
“Do you wish to leave, Janet?” asks Mistress, forcing Janet to voice her silent decision to stay.
“Why have you locked the door?” asks Janet, trying to deflect her question.
“Because I can, and I choose to do so,” replies Mistress. “I told you my terms. Now, answer my question.”
“I will stay. You invited me here to be reunited with Melissa,” replies Janet weakly as though trying to justify her failure to take stronger action. “My feelings towards Melissa have never changed despite our parents attempt to keep us apart. I accept your terms although they aren’t what I thought you were meaning when we met last week.”
Melissa has no idea how Mistress Bethany has lured Janet here, but Janet’s words are effectively a total surrender to her new mistress.
“Good. Now remove your clothes and put on the items in this bag.”
It’s the identical demand which Mistress Bethany made to Melissa two years ago. Removing her normal clothes and putting on what symbolically serves as a slave costume was Melissa’s first act of submission. Janet offers no resistance, nor does she make any protest. Mistress Bethany has obviously understood Janet’s personality perfectly. But Melissa still doesn’t understand why her mistress is enslaving her sister. Janet hinted that she wants to be reunited with Melissa, but why would Mistress Bethany engineer such a reunion?
