The two guys hurried ahead of us to the door of the bunk house and Rose yelled, “Billy” when she addressed the younger guy. Raymond and Billy they were and they seemed to adore Rose although she didn’t like them much but rather just tolerated them. “Are there more workers living here,” I asked her. The interior of the building looked about like the exterior, tinny and forlorn. “I thought the dairy bunk house was, well, not inviting but...” I said no more realizing they didn’t need to hear any of that from me. Raymond and Billy sat on beds and gleamed at us as if in anticipation. Rose gave them a dirty look and handed me her towel recovered from the top bunk above Billy. “We’ll share,” she said. We went into the next room at the end of the structure and it was a shower with open toilets, no walls. There were three shower heads and the entire room was open, no partitions anywhere.

I had to wonder about Rose having to share this wide open experience but thus far she was entirely able to take care of herself and I had to think these bunk mates of hers being able to watch her beauty all the time was really something.
