“So, of all people, this guy turned up alive. In Texarkana. Despite Fireball Day. Chief Justice John Roberts. Chief Justice of a Supreme Court that ceased to exist almost two years ago,” the Prophet David Howard, Governor of Iowa Free State, chuckled now, “he has sworn allegiance to the new Republic of East Texas based in Houston. Anyway, back to more germane topics, our tanks, troops, and trucks are rolling through Jefferson City, Missouri now. The East Missouri Free State flag is flying above the Capitol now. The state is now divided into two parts instead of three as it used to be.” The Governor’s fingers drummed on the oak table.
“The Nation of Islam has ceased its harassment of the evacuating New Covenant forces en route to Arkansas. That’s good news for sure. They can now finish their evacuation in peace. Evidently, not as many people left with them as they expected. A lot of folks have opted to welcome the East Missouri Havenite Militia as liberators or at least give them a chance,” Tozroman, the demon who served as Secretary of War, observed.
“The last of Russell Rao’s forces have withdrawn to Kansas. Lincoln is now Havenite and so is Beatrice again. The new defensive perimeter, the Fremont Line, is much shorter, which is easier on his forces, which are smaller than they have been in a while. He is pressing civilians into his ranks to reinforce his position, which is now under assault from three sides: the Kansas Havenites to the south, the Nebraska-Dakota forces to the north, and the Nation of Islam troops to the east,” Colonel Mendoza stipulated as well.
“Omaha is now officially under a new Havenite-led Nebraska Transitional Authority, which is preparing to become the new Nebraska Free State. This will make it easier to arrange commerce and transportation overland from the Dakotas, Montana, etc. No more Free City of Omaha nonsense, thank God! And Offutt Air Force Base is in Havenite hands,” Lieutenant Governor Casper Novak declared now.
“Aside from a sliver of Kansas under the Nation of Islam, the rest of that state will soon be Free State under a Havenite government as well,” Jenny Howard remarked with anticipation, smiling at both the Prophet, her, and at Fuijma Howard, one of her sister-wives.
“Formal negotiations between East Texas and the Native American Commonwealth, formerly known as the State of Oklahoma, will likely soon normalize relations between those two successor states. Which should also increase our own opportunities for trade and diplomacy with the folks in Houston,” Fujima said with her lingering Japanese accent as she caressed their husband’s hand.
“Our own negotiations with East Texas are proving a little slower, but our representatives and theirs have agreed in principle to mutual recognition of each other’s existence,” Andrea Howard commented next as her niece and sister-wife, Denise, and she lightly fondled each other’s buttocks.
“Twenty thousand Sacred Dominion troops, two divisions, have surrendered to the Maritime Provinces Coalition forces in Quebec. Brother Antoine is now trapped and isolated in Saint-Georges. His regime barely exists now, and that only in the remaining territory surrounding his chosen capital,” First Lieutenant Daniel Orange briefed them on the latest developments in Canada.
“It’s very likely that Quebec will be permanently annexed and become the fifth province in the Coalition, after a transitional phase as an occupied territory, of course,” First Lieutenant Brittany Coleman added for her part.
