Chapter 18: Knickers

An interesting development occurred this week.

The faeries believed they needed to pay for the homes, but they didn’t know-how. Sparky informed Lee of the problem. During lunch, Lee was talking to Sandra and Debora when Deb winged about the quality of lingerie in the replicator. She wished she had her silk knickers back. Kyle added that he missed his silk boxer shorts.

That afternoon Lee scrounged through the library for lingerie patterns and printed a heap of patterns out. The next morning, she took them to Ide. “Hi Ide, I was wondering if you could make these out of your silks?”

Ide, Muirín, Searc and Feme looked over the patterns and asked what the material ‘elastic’ was? Lee said she would be right back. She found a replicator and her luck was in. There were several different styles of clothing elastics in the system and even several that could be used for the bras.

She made 200m of each type as a starter. She also checked for under-wires for bra’s and found six cup sizes. So, she made four sets of each, doubling up on the C’s and D’s as she reckoned, they were popular sizes and thirty sets of front hooks and strap sliders.

She then remembered the measurements on the patterns were in millimetres, so she also made four thin dress-makers tapes. Then she dialled up four boxes of tiny dressmaker pins and ten packs of the smallest needles she could find in the system.

She even found some small scissors and tiny thread cutting scissors. She thought the girls could use them. She found the little hand-held sewing machines that Sandra had used. She wondered if the faeries could use them, so she got four of them as well and took the lot back to the wives.

She showed them where each of the items she brought with her was used in the patterns. The wider elastic in the boxer shorts the other two for the knickers and straps, and the under-wires, sliders and hooks for the bras. She explained about the sizes of the knickers and bra cups and rib sizes. She used the tap on herself to demonstrate.

She gave the tape measures, pins and needles to the girls. The faeries had pins and needles. However, theirs were not as finely crafted as the ones Lee gave them, so they were happy to accept them. They loved the new sharp scissors, as both sizes would be very handy for their small hands.

Lee set up a little sewing machine and showed then how to thread it and use it. It has a straight stitch and a stretch stitch for Lycra materials, but she thought it would work with the elastics.

Ide found it was easy to operate and could see how it would be very useful. The machine would speed up the simple sewing like what was required for the seams and hems of the knickers and shorts.

The faeries got in a huddle and then asked Lee if she would like them to make a set in each size as a sample to see if they were what she wanted. Lee agreed she would love samples but specified six specific sized sets for the lingerie and the boxers.

She told the wives the girls liked their sets to be the same main colours and the boxers could be as bright and patterned as they like. For some reason guys like them like that she explained. The wives giggled and asked her to come back at the same time the next day.

Lee came back later the next day to find six pairs of the brightest boxer shorts she had ever seen. The girls had also completed the six different sets of lingerie, each a different colour. The wives and made each set unique while following the basic patterns she had provided.

Lee picked up a set of knickers and matching bra in her size. The set was beautifully crafted and very red. She loved them and knew Sean would too. She asked if she could try them on. The wives agreed this would be best, and Lee stripped and put them on.

‘Damn’ she thought. They fitted her so well she was amazed, even her tits looked good, and they were comfortable. Lee performed a kata set to see how they felt when she moved and found they didn’t bother her at all like most underwear did. She decided Sean might get one more wish granted tonight. She asked if she could keep this set.

The wives were pleased. It was always good to keep a wizard happy. Lee got dressed and then sat on the floor with the wives. They were amazed, and all agreed with Sparky that this Lady was one strange Lord Wizard. She was always happy to deal with them as equals.

“Okay ladies, here is the deal. Sparky said that you guys felt you needed to pay for the homes we built you. So how many sets of lingerie and boxers do you think it will cost to pay off the homes? I’ll supply the elastic, under-wires, hooks and clasps.”

Ide asked, “Which would you want more of, the lingerie sets or the boxer shorts?”

Lee said, “Probably about two to one. The girls are going to absolutely love, your lingerie. There were about forty-five women between the ship and the settlement and fifty-two males.”

“I could easily get their sizes for you and the numbers for both. I can assure you there will be re-sales Most of the girls like to own many sets and even the guys who wear the boxers like at least three sets.”

Ide said, “So if we made ninety sets of lingerie and fifty-two sets of boxers, would we be debt-free for the homes?”

“Bloody hell, how long is that going to take you?” Lee didn’t want them having to pay off the houses for months.

Ide replied, “We each have a good stock of silks as we purchased more before we left. The amount of material required for lingerie is not a lot. The boxer shorts are easy as the pattern is simple, but they did use more silk. Ciar prefers to weave and dye so we should have enough to get them done in two weeks.”

She looked at the other women, and they all agreed this was doable, especially with the marvellous sewing machine. They had all had fun using them, and they had really sped up the sewing. The scissors were so sharp, they made cutting out a breeze.

Lee said, “Eighty-four lingerie sets and forty-six pairs of boxers. Plus, the ones you have already made that’s one set for the guys and two sets for the girls. I’ll supply the extras and get you a list of sizes and the debt is paid. After that, you girls charge whatever you want. I’ll supply the extras for ten percent of what you get.”

The ladies huddled, and they all grinned. Feme asked, “Can we make these items for the other races as well?”

“Ladies, you can make them for whoever you bloody wish, as long as I get my ten percent.”

Lee knew a good deal when she found one. Not that she needed the money, but she understood it was important to the faeries. She felt the faeries would respect her and more importantly trust her if they felt they were getting a good deal as well.

The faeries grinned and giggled, and then they all said, “It was a deal.”

Lee held out her hand and then saw their confusion. “Where I come from, we shake on a deal to confirm the contract,” she explained.

They all nodded, and Lee shook Ide’s hand, then the other ladies. They were impressed with Lee’s dealing. They were more than happy with their side of the deal. Ten percent and she supplied half the materials were a great deal.

Ide had speculated during the day that the new line of clothing would keep them in business for generations. She even speculated the Genteli would wear them if they were pretty enough.

The Burgis and Pix definitely would if they could get the wires in smaller bra sizes and possibly even the Prol women. They mentioned this to Lee, and she told them she would see what she could do.

Lee took the other sets of lingerie and the boxers. She went and found Debora. She handed her the set she thought would fit her. “Tell me if these don’t fit,” she told her. Debora was speechless at first as she looked at the peach coloured lingerie.

“Far out, they are awesome. Can I go try them on now?” she squealed with delight.

Lee nodded at the retreating back of Debora. Next, she found Sandra and handed her a pale blue set and a pair of boxers for Dave. Sandra also squealed and ran off to try hers on.

She found Magda and handed her a lavender set and a set of boxers for Jim. Magda just looked at them and said, “For me, these are for me? Oh! And Jim is going to love these. He misses his old ones.”

Lee nodded and feared for her ribs as Magda hugged her fiercely and headed off. ‘Damn that woman was strong,’ Lee thought, rubbing her ribs. She found Penny and Juanita in their tent and handed them their sets.

Penny’s were buttercup yellow, and Juanita’s were pale green. The girls pulled her into their room, stripped and put them on. “Do you have a set on?” Juanita asked. Lee nodded. “Strip, let us see,” Juanita demanded. So, Lee stripped.

“They are all gorgeous,” Penny said, with Juanita agreeing. “Oh, they are so comfortable too,” she crooned as she adjusted her breasts to better display them.
