Author’s note

This story is fiction, and yet it’s based on a true story.

Many years ago, one of my friends went through a hard time, basically due to bad choices he made in his younger years. Things played out well for him in the end. The characters and the barn are real; I imagined all the dialogue, and I changed the names, the event calendar, and many other details, trying to keep the main characters’ original psychological and physical features as close as possible to my real friends.
