Chapter 7

The Monday at school I had been getting looks from everyone. The guys were nodding and grinning at me whilst the girls were almost blushing and giggling. I mean it was different from the no attention so it was something.
I was at my locker before lunch when someone shouted my name.
“Hey Shane!” The voice came from a what I can only describe as a causally dressed guy, well dressed much like me. Skinny jeans, trainers and a t shirt. He had a shaved head, looked like the same height as me but maybe a bit more muscular. He was joined by three other guys as he approached.
“How’s it going ma man?” He held his hand out in a side ways cup motion and I went with it and cupped my hand back with him.
“Eh going good cheers” I said a little confused by his sudden friendliness towards me. I could only feel it had soemthing to do with Harrison and it couldn’t be good.
“So tell me, are the rumours true? Did you fuck the principals daughter?” He said it so loud like it wasn’t a big deal. I glanced around as his buddies eagerly awaited my answer. I hadn’t told anyone so I could only guess Alayah did.
“Yeah I did” I replied
“Nice” he held out his hand which I shook again. “Who knew newbie got some game. I’m Joel by the way, this here is Logan and Ellis.” He said as he pointed out the other two guys. All three of them were dressed very similar and to be fair all seemed about the same height and build. Although the dark haired Ellis was the only one wearing glasses.
“Five points if you can guess which one of us is the super nerd” Joel leaned in and whispered to me. I couldn’t help but look at Ellis. He wasn’t what you would describe as a typical nerd, far from it. He was more what you would describe as a jock but with glasses.
“It’s steroptical I know” Ellie sighed. “The guy with the glasses has to be the smart one but it’s not difficult compared to these three.”
“You’re not wrong” the one known as Logan spoke up, Logan was best described as a marine. He was potentially half cast and had a well formed muscular body with a crew cut. “Just like the dumbass one has no hair.” I now couldn’t help but look at Joel who just smiled. Which was rich coming from Logan who didn’t have much more hair than Joel.
“Let’s not go there infront of our new friend shall we boys?” Joel said as he put his arm around my shoulders.
“I mean he did score a home run with Alayah” Ellis added.
“Exactly, so he’s clearly with the right group now!” Joel replied. It seemed I was being intergrated into this group without really much choice or say. In truth it wasn’t maybe a bad thing to actually have some friends. I mean they all seemed cool enough. I didn’t have a girlfriend now so none of them could fuck me over behind my back.
“Come on Shane you can tell us over lunch” Joel lead me away with the group as we headed for the cafeteria. We found a table and we all sat around it. This was the first time since I had joined Palm Valley that I actually had people to sit with at lunch.
“Right so how did you do it? How did you get to fuck the principles daughter?” Joel rounded on me as soon as we sat down.
“Is it that big of a deal?” I asked.
“For a guy who tried to get into bed with her all last year, then yes. Ain’t that right Joel.” Logan said as he patted his friend on the back.
“Yeah and do you know how many girls I had to sleep with to make up for it” he flashed a grin.
“What all three?” Ellis spoke up.
“Four actually” Joel huffed with a wink. “Anyway, talk us through your game plan?”
“There wasn’t one...” I said honestly.
“Bullshit, no one’s that good” Joel said. I then proceeded to tell them the story of how Harrison tried to prank me and one thing left to an other.
