Chapter 2

The car strikes me and I bump up onto the bonnet then roll up over the window. Tumbling off the other side I hit the ground, hard. Son of a bitch that hurt. I think my only saving grace was that the driver, wasn’t going too fast. Plus the fact I wasn’t all skin and bones helped. A little cushion to land on. I lay on the cold tarmac looking up to the sky above, groans escaping my mouth.
The car had come to a screaching stop and someone had got out.
“Fuck fuck fuck, don’t be dead, don’t be dead” I heard her paniced voice as she came into vision. I had managed to pull myself into a seating position as she stood before me.
“Thank fuck, what the hell man! Where did you come from?” I heard the heat in her voice and it was hard to tell if she was genuinely pissed or it was the shock of just hitting someone.
“Fuck” I groaned as I looked up at her. She was wearing black sneakers with tight denim jeans, a loose tank top hung over her waist. Her hands were on her hips as she stared down at me, a mix of anger and concern.
“Like are you alright?” More concern than heat in her voice.
“Yeah ... fuck that hurt” I moan as I rub my head, nothing feels like it’s broken at least, just my heart.
“Yeah no shit, can you stand?” I nod as I begin to stand up, she reaches her hand out and helps me stand. I wobble a little but I steady myself. I now look down at her as I’m a little taller, her black hair is in a ponytail behind her head but I recognise her face, I can’t quite place it yet.
“Easy ... do I need to take you to the hospital? I’d rather not but like I will if I have too!” I now realised that I had steadied myself thanks to her hand. I went to answer but my voice was drowned out as Megan had now joined us.
“Oh my god baby! Are you ok?” She barged infront of the girl as she held my arms in her hands.
“Hey watch it bitch!” The girl snarled.
“Watch it yourself! You just ran over my fucking boyfriend, I should call the cops!” Megan threatened rounding on the girl.
“You better get the fuck out of my face or I’ll kick your ass up and down this street.” I half smiled at the girls threat, I wish she would but it wasn’t worth it.
“Megan, fuck off back in your house, I don’t need or want you here.” I know stepped beside the girl and pointed Megan in the direction in which she should go. Megan’s eyes began to water as she turned to me.
“Baby ... don’t be like that, you’ve just been ran over, I need to take care of you. You must have hurt your head!” She stepped towards me again but I pushed her hands away.
“Don’t baby me, you’re dead to me Megan, just like Ryan.” The numbness had faded a little as she so blantently tried to down play what she just did.
“Sounds like you need to fuck off!” The girl smirked at Megan.
“Fuck you bitch, this is between my boyfriend and me, now fuck off.” Megan roared at the girl who stood her ground.
“Call me bitch one more time ... I fucking dare you!” The girl said in a cold voice.
“Fuck you ... Bit...” Megan didn’t get to finish the word as the sound of a slap echoed throughout the street. Megan was so stunned and ataken back by it that she fell to the ground.
“Nice shot” I smiled and noddingly approved. “I couldn’t get a ride could I?” I turned away from Megan and looked at the girl. She looked back hesitantly. “Look please even just anywhere so I can get away from her...”
“Ok fine, I mean least I could do for running your over. Come on” she nodded towards her car and I followed.
