“Welcome back to the Calypso Battle Analysis Show. I’m Rita Davis! Yesterday’s match has already gone down in history! Ace Tomlinson ending Mikaela Faye’s three-year undefeated streak and living to battle another day! Social media hasn’t stopped buzzing, and now the question on everyone’s mind is: Can Ace actually go all the way in the Divine Challenge? Joining us today is Professor Morales, as always, and joining remotely from Hoenn is none other than former Champion Wallace. Gentlemen, thank you for being here!”
Professor Morales nodded his head once before answering. “Thank you, Rita, and let me start by saying this: what Ace accomplished yesterday was extraordinary. Mikaela is not just a skilled trainer; she is a tactician who has humiliated challengers for years. The fact that Ace kept his composure against Mega Mawile, one of the most brutal walls in the Fairy roster and turned it with a perfectly timed Solar Beam..., that wasn’t luck. That was foresight.”
“Extraordinary, yes, but sustainable? That’s the real question.” Wallace chimed in via the remote feed. “You can’t treat the Divine Challenge as a single battle. It’s eight consecutive, elite-level fights, without a single margin for error. Mikaela’s Mega Mawile nearly broke him. The others, Gianna, Chelsea, Amber, they’ll watch the tape, they’ll adapt. It’s not about whether Ace can win once. It’s whether he can win eight times in a row.”
Professor Morales folded his hands. “Pressure appears to be fuel for Ace. He thrives in it. You could see it in how he answered Mikaela’s taunts mid-match, and let’s not forget: Venusaur isn’t just a Pokémon to him. That’s his partner from the very beginning. The bond they share is the difference-maker. In battles where the margins are razor-thin, trust like that can push through where raw power cannot.”
Wallace nodded. “I’ll concede that point, but here’s my final word: every Gym Leader left in this Challenge is watching Ace right now. They’re studying him, and if he doesn’t adapt faster than they do, his run ends early. Respect to him for toppling Mikaela, but I’m not yet ready to crown him.”
Rita Davis turned to the cameras. “And there you have it, two perspectives: one calling Ace’s win the start of something historic, another warning that his road is still long and treacherous. We’ll keep following every step of this unprecedented Challenge. Don’t go anywhere! We’ll be back after the break.”

Broooo ... I still can’t believe it. Streak over. The queen is dead.
FairyQueen88:
Correction: THE queen got fucked by RNG crits. Don’t act like Ace is untouchable.
HikerAnthony:
LMAO He SOLAR BEAMED a MEGA MAWILE to the FACE. That wasn’t luck, that was BALLS. #Acechosenone
RockSmash420:
Nah fr tho ... Bisharp tanking Gigaton Hammer >>> anything I’ve seen. Dude’s cold-blooded.
GossipGardevoir89:
... ok but can we talk about the VIRAL PHOTO??? Woman with hoodie + SUV at 6AM leaving Ace’s hotel? That’s gotta be Mikaela.
SnivySnark:
Lmao imagine losing AND sneaking out of the guy’s hotel room the same night. Couldn’t be me.
BibarelDam:
Hold up. Y’all are missing the bigger picture. His press conference? “I didn’t plan for losing.” Bro sounded like a man who’s fought LEGENDS before. Some of the professors have been whispering. What if the rumors are true?
ModNote – BattleMod1:
Reminder: speculation is fine, but no doxxing. The hotel photo is UNCONFIRMED. Don’t post addresses.
ThunderThirst:
Unconfirmed my ass, those hips looked like Mikaela’s. #AceAndMikaela is trending.
TrainerX99:
LMAO this thread went from battle analysis to tabloid trash in like 12 posts. Peak PokéNet.
Back at her Villa, Mikaela Faye opened her text messages and groaned. The Calypso gym leader text thread had blown up after the alleged photo of her discreetly leaving Ace’s hotel earlier that morning went viral.
Chelsea Gomez: “Uh Mikaela ... what’s this I hear about you having dinner with Ace Tomlinson?”
Gianna Mercury: “Fuck that! What are these rumors that you were spotted leaving his hotel at 6 in the morning??”
Amber Pennebaker: “Awfully quiet, Mikaela... ”
Lucy Simon: “Hey let’s cut her a break ... she just lost for the first time in three years... ”
Gianna Mercury: “And apparently drowned her sorrows in some dick... ”
Chelsea Gomez: “GIANNA!!!”
Amber Pennebaker: “LMAO I cannot with you right now.”
Lucy Simon: “ ... seriously though, Mikaela?”
Mikaela sighed before typing.
Mikaela Faye: “You all act like I owe you an itinerary of my personal life.”
Gianna Mercury: “So ... that’s a yes to dick?”
Mikaela Faye: “That’s a ‘mind your own damn business.’”
Amber Pennebaker: “Ooooh someone’s touchy.”
Mikaela Faye: “Touchy? Try being undefeated for three years. One loss doesn’t suddenly make me your gossip column.”
Chelsea Gomez: “ ... okay, but if it wasn’t true, how come we didn’t hear from you until now?”
Gianna Mercury: “GIRL”
Mikaela Faye: “Believe what you want. Just remember, he still has seven more of you to face.”
Lucy Simon: “ ... and you want him to lose, right?”
Mikaela Faye: “I want him to struggle. There’s a difference.”
Ace was in his hotel room suite on a call. Phillip and Phoebe appeared via holo-feed from Cianwood City in the Johto region. Professor Oak dialed in from Pallet Town.
Oak spoke first, but his voice carried a somber tone. “First of all, Ace, congratulations. I watched your match, and you performed brilliantly. But I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t worried. One match down still leaves seven, and the stakes are unlike anything I’ve ever seen.”
Phoebe nodded with her arms folded. “I couldn’t even bring myself to watch. I just ... the thought of seeing you lose, of seeing what would follow ... I couldn’t stomach it. I waited for Phillip to tell me the result. That’s how much this is eating at me.”
“She’s right, Ace.” Phillip said more bluntly, sounding protective. “I watched but that was one of the closest calls I’ve seen you have. I know you thrive in these high-pressure battles, but this isn’t the league. There are no rematches, no second chances. If you stumble even once, you don’t walk away. That reality terrifies us.”
Ace remained calm and resolute. “I hear you all, but I need you to trust me. I promised you, I won’t lose. Not here, not now. Every match is life or death, and I know that. I’m ready for it.”
Phoebe sighed, softly, shaking her head. “You sound so damn sure of yourself ... I wish I could share that certainty.”
Ace’s voice was firm, looking them both in the eye through the holo-feed. “Then let me carry it for all of us. You two focus on the bigger picture. That’s what I need from you.”
Phillip exhaled. “Speaking of the bigger picture ... we went to Ecruteak to visit the Tin Tower and then later we traveled out to the Whirl Islands, searching for anything that could link to Arceus. We expected ... something. Some record, some artifact—”
“There was nothing.” Phoebe interjected, frustration in her voice. “No glyphs, no myths pointing upward, not even a trace, and here’s the strangest part. Lugia wasn’t at the Whirl Islands. Phillip had the Silver Wing ready. By all accounts, that should have drawn Lugia to us, but it never showed. We waited all day.”
“Legends don’t vanish without reason. Either it left of its own accord ... or something forced it away.” Oak replied grimly.
Ace frowned. “Which means someone else might already be moving pieces.”
Oak’s eyes grew heavy with concern. “That aligns with what I’ve just heard from Professor Juniper. She received word that park rangers observed a large force moving into Victory Road yesterday. Not ordinary poachers or random raiders, but an organized army. They were heavily armed, moving with precision. She believes they were after something specific.”
Phoebe looked puzzled. “An army? In Victory Road? Why would they be there—”
“Terrakion.” Ace cut in. There was a brief, tense moment of silence before Ace spoke again. “When I was in Unova, I heard about the legend of the Swords of Justice. Cobalion, Terrakion, Virizion, and Keldeo. Four legendary Pokémon said to protect other Pokémon from losing their homes to human expansion. Terrakion was rumored to reside in the Trial Chamber located deep in Unova’s Victory Road.”
Phillip’s jaw tightened. “If they’re bold enough to challenge one of the Swords of Justice, it means they’ve got technology or power we haven’t seen before.”
“And if Terrakion falls, the others won’t be far behind.” Phoebe added grimly, her voice low.
Professor Oak nodded gravely. “That’s exactly what I fear. If those operatives were from the same group that ambushed you in Snowpoint City, then the Divine Challenge may not just be about Ace surviving battles. It may be about a race against time before the world itself shifts beneath us.”
The holo-call fell into a heavy silence as each of them absorbed the gravity of what was possibly coming next.
The following day at the Cerebral Gym in Amanecer City on Calypso Island, located about seven miles south of Maria Bella, Lucy Simon was sitting in her gym office answering emails on her computer when her assistant knocked and peeked her head in.
“Hello ... Lucy?” her assistant asked, coming into her office.
“Hi Leslie. Everything okay?” Lucy asked cheerfully.
“I just thought you should know ... Ace Tomlinson just walked into the gym. I think he’s going to challenge you next.” Leslie said.
“Oh, really?” Lucy replied, sounding amused. “Is he still out there in the lobby?”
“I think so. He was headed to the front desk when I saw him.” Leslie shifted uncertainly at the doorway. “Do you ... want me to stall him?”
Lucy shook her head, her smile widening. “No, no. I’ll go out there now to meet him. If Ace Tomlinson wants an audience, then we’ll give him one.”
She stood, smoothing her blazer. “Besides, the crowd’s been restless ever since Mikaela lost. They’ll want to see if the so-called ‘Chosen One’ can handle me.”
As she walked toward the door, her heels clicking against the gym’s polished floor, Leslie called after her. “Are you nervous at all, Lucy? I mean ... he did beat Mikaela.”
Lucy glanced back with a sly grin. “Darling, I don’t get nervous. I make other people nervous.”
