Tuerien smiled.
“He’s injured,” reported Marana, a griffin he had just revived. She had been killed but he could send her back into the battle instantly. She flew so fast, leaving behind the seraphim that Leo had killed in his initial assault.
Leo had skill. Talent.
He was a fighter.
Marana died, failed by the wounded Leo. Tuerien gripped his Void Crystal, reaching into the Wind section of the interface and found Marana. He seized her soul and opened his mouth to revive her when he was hurtled out.
He gasped, his brain hurt by being flung from his Void Crystal. “What the fuck?”
The alarm in his dungeon went off. Invaders.
“How did he breach the Spire?” Tuerien demanded of Soulita?
The girlish figure perched on his Void Crystal shook her head. “I have no idea, but you are being invaded.”
“He must have prepared something. Ghosts, maybe. They could phase through the walls.” Tuerien shook his head. He was miles from that part of his dungeon. He’d have to divert some of his forces outside.
He left behind his Vault and hurried to his throne room where his map lay. He had to know where these enemies were so he could coordinate the attack. He raced through his living quarters and out into his throne room.
Only to find the enemy was here. Monster girls poured into his throne room from a hole in the wall. He gaped at the sight of lemures and ghosts, unicorns and cockatrices, sphinxes and choirs spilling like a flood into his dungeon. Three unique monster girls stepped out next. A wraith with a clock of mist, a one-eyed cyclops, and a lampetia who glowed with her element. Behind them came human and dwarven warriors. Even an elf.
“Lady Sherida, bless us with your light and help us smite your foe!” cried a black-haired woman in armor with a sword.
Light glowed throughout the adventurers, their weapons shining. At the back, a young man, Chinese, emerged last. He wore black robes. He folded his arms before him, his eyes focused on Tuerien.
Leo sent his pet builder? How the fuck did he breach my dungeon this deep?
“Flames consume, let the passion of Lady Lamashtu transform!” roared from Tuerien’s mind. He was not afraid of the horde of monster girls charging at him. Not when he had Ultimate magic. The Living Fire spell engulfed him.
It was a magic beyond Flamebody. Tuerien became a column of fire as the unicorns led the charge. They lowered their horns and plowed into his flames. They whinnied and screamed as their bodies burned to ash.
He laughed as he felt them burning. He consumed them with his magic. His body destroyed them. He felt their skin crisp and blacken. Their hair burst into ash. He savored their pain, reveling in the destruction of his enemies.
More monster girls charged. Beams of light fired from the lampetia. The cockatrices screamed.
How could that hurt living fire?
“Death slays, let the finality of Lord Nergal despoil!” Tuerien roared, his flames crackling as he cast Blight.
The most powerful Death spell.
A wave of deathly energy swept out before him and killed the choirs, cockatrices, and sphinxes.
The black-haired woman who had prayed raised her shield. The deathly wave struck her, but she didn’t die. The light engulfed her and swallowed it before it hurt her. She lowered her shield, her eyes hard on him. Lightning crackled from the blade she held.
“Halia,” Tuerien said. Leo’s famed paladin. The daughter of the hero who slew some of the most deadly dungeon builders.
“Lady Sherida, let your light shine bright from me to aid your servants and harm our enemies!” Halia prayed.
The light flared bright from her. She shone with faith. Tuerien growled. However, he saw it as a column of flame flinched from it. He was momentarily blinded. But that didn’t matter. They had no water monster girls.
He had no fear of them. There was nothing more they could do. Halia marched toward him, resolute.
Tuerien laughed. He didn’t even have to use spells to kill her. He just had to engulf her in his body. Leo’s paladin. His lover, so the rumors reported. Pleasure rippled through Tuerien. Leo had caused him so many headaches.
Now he would hurt the bastard before destroying him. That hole in the wall must lead into a dungeon. Siwang’s or Leo’s. Either way, he could get access to it. Send his monster girls into it. He would destroy all of them.
“Thunderclap deafens, let the roar of Lord Ishkur disorient!” Siwang cried at the back.
