The next day, Borsk Fey’yla attended the senate meeting. The chamber was just as wide and expansive as it had been in the days of the republic and Palpatine’s empire, a great arena where even if it was just you on one end of the chamber and another at the opposite, and one yelled to produce an echo, you would have to look around very keenly to discover the source of that sound. On normal days before the hearings began, it was loud enough, like stepping into a food court or mess room. Due to recent happenings it was now abuzz with activity, the whole area was flooded with noise, you could only hear the people right next to you. He was not surprised, and he knew exactly why. Everywhere he went, he heard Leia’s name uttered at least once.

Once the initial commotion settled down, Mon Mothma took the floor. Her senate pod floating in the center of the open expanse of the great rotunda, soon all gathered there, not just humans and Twi’lek’s, but from the Gungans to the Selkath and everyone else in between too, were hushed to silence. She spoke.

“Everyone, I am sure you aware of the recent news involving Leia Organa. I do not think I need to say it, but it is a hard day for us all. It is no secret that I did not always see eye to eye with Leia. But I did not wish this fate for her either. In this new era which she played an instrumental role in bringing to fruition, I thought these sorts of attacks on our fellow senators would be a thing of the past. And yet here I see it is continuing to this very day. I do not know who is behind it, or what these pirates want. They have not made an announcement. We do not know if she is even still alive. But rest assured, I will see to it that every effort is made to bring her home!”

She continued her long and moving speech as she needed to. Fey’yla smiled, zoning out of it lost in his thoughts, finding so much joy in them. The Bothan senator was a man whose talents in duplicity were well known if they would serve his interests. But right now, he was not thinking of his goals and ambitions in the senate. Right now he only felt a devious glee, like a small child who pulled a prank with nobody else the wiser. Owing to the severity of the situation and his own feelings contrary to everyone else, he felt a giddy smile creeping on his face and was flat out close to busting out laughing.

Looking over the rest of the senate, he spotted Del Veniz. The young man wasn’t weeping, but he was looking down, forlorn. Ever a snake, Fey’yla had learned to read people to the point he could know so much about them just from setting eyes on them. He had sensed the young man’s ambition in the political sphere even if he had learned to make rationalizations on why he craved power. And now he saw Del Veniz’s misery over that little trollop of a princess being taken away. There was no other way the boy would look so ready to break down over a mere friend having been snatched to who knows where in the Outer Rim. She had gotten her claws into him alright.

Fey’yla had other things on his mind than looking at his pathetic face, useless and lovesick. He quietly excused himself and left the main chamber. In a small side hallway away from the rest of the main areas, he took out his holoprojector. His Twi’lek contact was standing at attention.

“Where is Leia now?”

“On Nal Hutta, in care of Durga.”

His furry features twisted into a fierce grimace. Here with no one watching, he could smile as much as he pleased. As much as his Bothan visage differed from the late Emperor’s pale and mangled face, it still made him look much like Palpatine at his worst, the wily fiend. “Good. I pray she is enjoying herself?”

There was an air of discomfort on the Twi’lek’s expression. He didn’t know why. “Don’t know, I left after. She in Durga’s hand now.”

He didn’t get a vibe of dishonesty from that. If the princess had given him a fight, so be it. He wouldn’t expect any less. He had a mind to make a quip at his operator’s expense, but considering he was freelance and one of the people in the know on who was behind this whole scheme, he might charge extra credits for any insult. Might even spill to the Republic for more money.

That wouldn’t come to pass. The princess had been a constant thorn in his side here in Republic space, she would not be his undoing now that she was stranded in Nal Hutta’s filth while he still lived comfortably on Coruscant. Like the Twi’lek said, she was Durga’s problem now.

“Good. You’ve performed your service well. Our contract is over. Expect the second half of your payment in the next few days.”

The Twi’lek nodded and shut off the call.

That prim and proper little lady will not escape that wretched hive. She will wish she had been on Alderaan the day it was blown to oblivion, now nothing more than chunks in the vacuum of space. If she has any sense, she will off herself in the bog of that Hutt shithole. Such will be the legacy of Princess Leia Organa, a hero who was kidnapped, her ultimate fate a mystery. Not even that Jedi brother of hers will know what happened to her.

Cupping his mouth to keep his voice silent in such a time of mourning, he indulged in his childish cackling. Struggling to keep quiet, he almost fell over laughing, that’s how much unbridled joy was burning inside him. Bothans were usually far bigger than men of his stature and indulging in his twisted pleasure, he did indeed look like a small child laughing at a stupid joke. He didn’t know how long it lasted, only that it was the best he felt in a long time. Once it was finished, he sighed pleasantly to himself. Then he returned to the main senate chamber.
----

Leia opened her eyes. She couldn’t see much of anything the room was still dark. But despite her poor eyesight, she felt far more coherent than before, the spice was either fully out of her system or close to it and even in that darkness, she gathered her arms around her naked breasts out of a need to hide them. Her nipples were still standing up and her skin tingled from her own touch. But clear minded as she was now, she knew the wild ecstasy of yesterday was gone. As time passed, she felt the hard floor on her bare body more than any lingering feeling of want.

She wondered what time it was. Then again, as she reflected on what a garish world Nal Hutta was, she figured it didn’t matter. As loathsome as what passed for day was on this planet was, the nights were likely worse. Either the dark skies would be tainted in that same noxious green shadow, or they would be completely jet black, an unnerving way to roam on this criminal world if there ever was one. Totally naked, she would be easy prey for the many predators lurking about. And no matter how much she tried cover up now wouldn’t change that. However fresh the experiences of the day before were in both how unchained and satisfying they were, she couldn’t think of them.

Not that she would be thinking about them for very long. She heard the hum of lights coming to life and closed her eyes from the inevitable glare. Even with her eyes closed, she felt the pain of her vision coming to light. Followed by the sounds of footsteps.

Leia opened her eyes again. She knew the light wasn’t that harsh on it’s own, not after having been here already, not after her body had been spiked and ravaged against her will to a shameful ecstasy that burned hotter than any love she knew before it, and not after having indulged herself with another woman in an unhinged passion that no man before had been able to bring her to. Not after having spent several days in Jabba’s palace, waiting and wanting for her fate to be known, years ago but it had felt like only yesterday. The other girls grumbled and roused but otherwise kept silent. Leia looked up.

There were Gamorreans accompanied by a couple Twi’lek’s and a Chagrian too. She already figured the green piggish looking creatures were the vestiges of Jabba’s order desperately seeking any gangster who would have them, no surprise to see them with other company, Durga was running a motley crew. But with the Twi’lek’s, she didn’t see the one who traveled with those Trandoshan pirates and answered Durga’s beck and call. The opposite of Bib Fortuna, something told Leia that she wouldn’t be seeing him again, like he was just a hired hand in it for the credits. Not that it would matter, after she had her hands on him, he was terrified of her.

A Gamorrean shouted something and the rest of the girls instantly stood up. Leia was familiar with it, having survived Jabba’s ordeals. But no matter how messy they were or their state of undress, the girls stood up with near military precision. Leia herself only rose up slightly slower.

Too slow. The Gamorreans got in her face and started barking. After surviving yesterday, Leia was tempted to give it to them right back. Either shout in their faces with what little of their tongue and Huttese she had picked up back on Tattooine, or tap into her new powers and make an example of him, a weapon she could use that she didn’t have back at Jabba’s. But she was not yet a true adept at the force like her brother and father before her, and she was surrounded.

Not to mention there was an implicit threat involved. The other women were looking at her, no matter how proud or innocent they looked, no matter how much older some of them were, their faces were pleading with her not to do anything. Leia recognized it well, the threat that if she tried anything, the others might suffer. She would not, she knew that, she was too high profile a trophy. But these thugs would visit horrible acts on the others to keep her in line.

Holding her tongue, she looked straight into the Gamorrean’s dumb black eyes. He was shouting something at her and she didn’t know and didn’t care, she didn’t look away. Surviving in the empire had made her of finer stuff than that and now here on the edges of the Outer Rim away from everything she knew, she didn’t care. But she wouldn’t let anyone else suffer on her behalf.

The Gamorrean looked past her and started shouting something. All of the girls lined up and then the Gamorrean put his hands on Leia’s shoulders and shoved her in with the rest of them. She looked back at him one final time with a sneer but the other girls had pulled her back. Looking forward, she knew where they being led to. A shower.

Leia watched the first several girls wash up. Each one only did it for a few minutes and then they cycled out. She was familiar with these quick washes, in her current predicament she was hit with a warmth akin to nostalgia, back in her days living in alliance bases, much to her royal disappointment, she would only be able to wash for a minute before she would have to leave, that’s how much they had to conserve water. In those days, it was just another unpleasant thing she had to deal with. But right now those memories were all too sweet.

Yet things were so much different now. She undid her hair while in line to make it easier for her. As soon as it was Leia’s turn, she washed up as fast as she could. Her hair, her body, everything, and then she did a quick dry off with the same towel the other girls had used. Then she was back out into the main room.

She didn’t know how long she was there, assembled into a line, back in the spot she was when she woke up. The Gamorrean had been pacing back and forth watching them. Then all of a sudden he started barking. Not at one of them in particular but all of them. Leia had enough of him by that point that she almost spit in his face. But she held her tongue.

As soon as he was finished, the Chagrian made a single grunt and all the ladies relaxed slightly. The girls all found their dancing outfits on and Leia likewise made to do the same. But she couldn’t find out, all the other girls had already done it, she was feeling the pressure. And even then she wondered if she’d be able to get it on as fast as she’d liked. It had been so long since she had put the thing on the regular back in Jabba’s palace.

Suddenly a dancing outfit was thrust into her hands. By the size, she knew it was meant for her. She tried putting it on, but her fear came true, it was a struggle getting it back on. She felt a brush of nails on her naked back, a pair of soft hands she was familiar with helping her out, and knew it was the Falleen girl from yesterday. Her body tingled, but after finally giving into that forbidden lustful fantasy she had kept secret for all these years, she knew it wasn’t the rush of that chemical washing over her, it was just a nostalgic feeling, something like safety. Holding her hands up to make it easier to get the thing on, she began to relax. But she didn’t dare look away from the guards who were all staring right at her.

Those same hands on her scalp. Her hair was being done up all over again by her new friend, and a flush lit up her face before she even realized it, her body was abuzz with sensation, memories of yesterday filling up her mind. Feeling horribly embarrassed despite having been woken up totally naked, she looked away from the guards.

Once it was done, she felt the girl move away. Leia almost looked back to her, but then she realized the guards might get an idea. One idiot Twi’lek’s word, the word of a man who was almost brought to cum and then denied satisfaction was one thing, but the others seeing it, the Hutt would know for sure. Then the two Twi’lek’s got into the throng of women and ushered them to move. Pushed out of the dancers’ quarters, they were suddenly back into the main area of Durga’s palace. There was already a sizeable gathering of men from across the galaxy thereabouts. Thugs from all over the galaxy all of them dripping with sleaze, none of them with the practiced charm of the smuggler she loved back home.

The girls around her went to frequent with the criminal filth hanging about. Leia was filled with disgust that she would have to do that with any of these scuzzy men, no matter what their races or how pretty they looked compared to the rest, they were all cut from the same filthy cloth. But one of the Twi’lek guards took Leia away from them and brought her before Durga. That black mark on his right eye, he looked different from Jabba, his laugh was different, but at the end of the day, they were far too similar. Right down to the little pet he kept on his shoulder.

He was looking right at her. As far as Leia was concerned, all these creatures looked alike, bloated and scuzzy. But that morning, Durga’s grin was oily and smug.

“Good morning Leia. How are you doing today?”

That same Basic, not Huttese. In spite of him wanting to seem more familiar to her, it made him more grotesque in her eyes. She only regarded him with a dead stare.

One of the Twi’lek’s walked on over to the Hutt. Whispered something to him. Leia already knew what it was, that it probably had something to do with that Falleen girl. Durga didn’t look away from her for an instant. When the Twi’lek was finished, Durga loudly said, “Leave us!”

The one thing that wasn’t different from Jabba was his voice. The first Hutt she ever encountered was old and sickly, and his voice still had power. Durga on the other hand was far younger with no disease. It felt like the floors shook with how loud his voice boomed. His attendants did exactly that, scurrying out fast. The only one still there was his taurill pet.

Not looking away from her, he said, “That man who oversaw you was just a hired hand, his word means nothing to me. But to hear it from one of my own men, to fight for some other slave girl and have her help you out ... I wonder how far that friendship goes?”

That Falleen girl was as different from Xizor as Luke was from Vader. Here away from the rest of civilization after all those men had used her, she felt no regrets in giving into that raging lust. But having another identify her, to know she fell so easily to that influence after the spice had only begun to wore off, she felt the same level of embarrassment as when she discovered what the underlord of Black Sun had done to her. It was the mindset of a very restrained and proper princess who had put that gangster in his place and taught the same lesson to Jabba. Here in this stupid slug’s den, she felt the shame of being named as a dumb whore cut to her bones.

More importantly, she knew that the girl was being used as a hostage. Leia just looked back at him. “You should be careful of who you listen to. Especially Twi’lek thugs.”

“Yes, I suppose you’re more used to human meat aren’t you? The stories they tell about you, you can’t get enough of it. Some say that you and that Skywalker boy were once involved. Did you know he and you were...”

“Wouldn’t you like to know? Perhaps you intended to catch him instead of me. To cause Vader to turn on Palpatine at the sacrifice of his own life, he has that effect on people doesn’t he.” She let herself smile past what she knew was wise and said, “He didn’t strangle Jabba to death with his own hands.”

Durga heard the threat, the intimidation. But as far as he was concerned, she was just another slave girl. Wherever he snatched them from, whether the daughters of nobility and royalty who got caught up with the wrong crowd, or beauties born in the shackles of poverty, they all either had an attitude or kept their mouths shut. But Leia was the first to still be unbroken after her welcoming ceremony.

“Then since you have such a fondness for human meat, perhaps I should arrange such a thing. You will fulfill your purpose.”

“My purpose?”

“Your first customer.”

Looking back, Leia saw him. A tall human man with a hideous jagged scar marking his face and long white hair. In spite of his white hair he didn’t exactly look old, only older. He looked familiar, Leia couldn’t place him. But then it hit her.

Tyber Zann. Kingpin of the self-styled Zann Consortium, he was never as big as the Hutt cartels or Black Sun during the reign of the empire. But he made it big after stealing billions worth of credits from Palpatine’s assets and now in the era of the Republic he reigned with enough power to visit Durga as if they were friends, no longer wearing his crude smuggler’s clothes, but long elaborate red robes, almost something like Bib Fortuna. Long a thorn in the Republic’s side, she had hoped to meet him with a smoking blaster after a hole had been blown through his skull.

No, the other girls would be hurt. But not him, and she was beginning to realize she was too valuable as a bargaining chip for other parties in the underworld to kill, and if the Republic got word, she could be used as all sorts of deals to his advantage. She knew that word of her kidnapping had gotten around to every corner of the galaxy, from the fine civilized worlds to the most rotten stinking hole in the outer rim. He already knew, and Durga was aware of that, and no doubt these two were already plotting many counsels in their own brand of politics. This Hutt presenting her to a fellow crime lord was proof of their trust.

Someone like Tyber Zann might even partner up with Fey’yla. The empire’s rise to power had long since passed but anti-human prejudice was still strong in the galaxy, and the Hutts felt that most of all. If the senators were to willingly join up with any Hutt no matter how well they hid the credit trail, they would be shamed and kicked out on the spot, especially a Bothan. But despite the Zann Consortium being a known criminal organization, he still had several legitimate operations and liked to present himself as a responsible business owner. It wouldn’t be out of the way for anyone corrupt enough to join up with them and then plead ignorance if those criminal ties were discovered.

Especially for someone like Borsk Fey’yla. It was good that Leia decided to keep silent. Ever since plundering Palpatine’s treasure trove, Tyber Zann had long dreamed of owning a senator. That conniving Bothan who made all sorts of excuses as to why he did the things he did would fit perfectly in his hands.

Today Zann would have that wish of owning a senator. Walking on over to her, he pushed his face on over to her. Leia instinctively turned away, her situation was a harrowing one. But she still had her pride.

Zann looked her up and down. “So here is the one and only Princess Leia. We meet at last.” He licked his lips. “How many of the men close in your life have seen this much of you?”

She was as stonefaced as a woman could be. Her jawdropping beauty only made her anger that much more blazing. And she was ready to breathe fire.

“It’s an honor I only allow few for a reason. Because every man who has ever crossed me is dead.”

Leaning forward he said, “If they had the pleasure of having you, what better way is there to go out?”

“Careful what you wish for. Jabba screamed and couldn’t even beg for mercy when I saw him dead. The empire thought they were invincible but I made sure to bite their throats. And they bled out slowly, but they died all the same. Vader, the Emperor, Tarkin, so many more. The only ones left are the shit they left behind.”

Zann looked past her at Durga. “Her tongue is as fierce a thing as I’ve heard too. I’ve watched you in the senate on Holonet from across the galaxy, but to hear you with my own ears, no other woman could be so cruel and beautiful at the same time. You say all the men who crossed you died?” He moved on over to her and clutched her chin. “Let me be the first to taste your delicious poison and sing it’s praises to all the galaxy.”
